Distribution Network Operator, the first thing on the list when you Google 'DNO'

They are responsible for the wires and routing energy to you, they maintain a list of which energy supplier is responsible for which metered location.

I'm aware of their existence and function, as that reference point is part of Supplier Switching 101. I'd just never heard the term DNO before. Gotta love jargon...

Google isn't necessarily the first port of call for everyone. Especially if you don't want to be tracked.

Actually, is there a general energy thread for making general comments, rather than about specific suppliers or other things? I can't say I'm aware of one.
