Has anyone been billed from their last NR bill up to when they went into administration/SOLR?

I was informed back in February by the administrators/NR that closing statements were being released in batches and would be notified once released and provided with a PDF copy. Still not heard anything.

Yup -got my final statement back in mid December - and BG have now billed from the (accurate) closing read on that statement altho' no-one has yet charged for standing charges from NR failure day til 6th Dec.

I had two properties on Neon Reef. For one, I just got refunded the outstanding credit balance and was never billed for the energy use from early November (which was covered by my one and only NR bill) and early December (when my non-SOLR switch to British gas went through), so I ended up with a month's worth of free electricity.

For the other, NR's bills based on estimated readings left me with a small debit balance, luckily I had taken time stamped photos of the meter covering the relevant period and British Gas has now refunded the difference between what NR actually charged me and what they should have charged me based on the meter readings. They even rounded the refund up to the nearest pound.

It definitely seems to be the case that the NR administrators have not bothered issuing any final bills and are just leaving BG to mop up the resulting mess.

Early on in the process, BG agreed that all NR credits and debits would be transferred over to themselves, so wouldn't expect them to be involved in debt collection altho I did think that the majority of NR customers had received final statements mid December.

Not sure why I've not had a final statement yet.

Fairly sure I had the full credit balance applied to my BG account, maybe BG will get around to billing me at a later date, guarantee it will be wrong if they do.

It does seems that the NR administrators are as incompetent as British Gas are.   :D

I'm amazed - we left Neon Reef last July and they owed me just over £22 but they fiddled and faffed around with the final bill for so long that I claimed £30 compensation which they agreed but in the end failed to pay either the owings or the comp. When they went bust I just wrote off the £20 and forgot about it.

Today in the post I received a cheque from British Gas for £52 in respect of my outstanding credit from NR. Now that's service that I didn't expect. I dont know whether to cash it or frame it (I do really, its down to the bank tomorrow to pay it in)

If you've got a bank that lets you submit cheques via photo in their app you can cash it *and* frame it!

Good to see BG getting their act together on this.

Not unlike you I left Neon Reef last June with a similar credit. It too was slow coming so claimed the £30 compensation. This was agreed to AND PAID.

Last month I received a letter from BG requesting payment of £30 for an outstanding debt to Neon Reef. I posted off a covering letter with a copy of my final invoice from Neon Reef and print out of the email correspondence regarding the compensation. The other day I received two identical letters from BG informing me that they don't deal with enquiries by letter and I had to use internet "chat" or telephone.

After more than half an hour, "chatting" to 3 different BG employees the "debt" was cancelled.

I have filed a transcript of that chat with my 15 year old final paper bill from BG requesting payment of 1p. This was in the days of cheques and bank giro credit forms.

I refuse to ever be a BG customer again.

Hey people, another NR casualty here.. Just to notify you before you read: i've read the previous pages starting from page 188 up to this 257 and couldn't find the answer to my query, maybe you'd be able to advise.

So, i've been migrated to BG from NR as most of us. On the last/ final statement we ended up in credit (beneficial) position for me, meaning NR owed me money, around £200ish. I've been chasing BG on this point on a monthly basis since early Jan and always been told the same thing as 'we don't know, we will ask etc', so I ended up filling out a complaint with Ofgem in late May. It took just over 1.5 months for Ofgem to come back to be and say that BG is the SOLR and is not responsible for the credits accumulated in NR account and I was referred to the administrators: Alvarez & Marsal, official physical address provided but I can't believe this is done these days on a hard letter..

Did anyone experience the same? If so - what's my best course of action?
