Interestingly BlueGreen are now showing on Elexon BMRS as being in default - 2 days after they ceased trading.
How on earth can Neon Reef continue to trade in these circumstances? Very much hope that a light is shone on this when the dust settles.0 -
AbbieCadabra said:General query, does anyone know how long they take to produce a bill from a scheduled reading?
I transferred to them 28 Sept., initial read accepted & DD set up. I provided a read 28 October & my a/c now shows an estimated reading for 29 October but no bill as yet? Do they email to notify a bill is ready or do I have to keep checking the app?
Thanks
Our personal experience was that having transferred in 7th April the first bill was 5 weeks later, then another clearly incorrect £6 bill in June, then nothing until I chased them. The July/August/September bills were all raised together and since then it's been consistently 5 days after the direct debit.
I have a spreadsheet so it doesn't really matter, they did try to raise my direct debit too high and I told them what I would pay them.1 -

Edit (Just to say that I had forewarned them 3 times already in writing, that I would be cancelling the dd unless they provided a bill, and stating that I would reject any financial penalty they might impose for dd cancellation.)Deleted_User said:I went live on the 27th September, ...
So let me get this straight.
You went live with Neon Reef on 27th September 2021.
On or before 29th October 2021, you had cancelled your Direct Debit mandate, and had already emailed Neon Reef no less than 3 times stating you would do so unless they send you your statement???
If that is a correct, I fear you have been somewhat previous.
As I understand it, Neon Reef provide monthly statements, starting on (or very close to) one month after joining them. They seem to usually take 7 -10 days from the end of the statement period to actually issue that statement.

@booshya I beg to differ. Your last paragraph is perhaps what should happen, but anecdotal evidence from myself and other posters would seem to suggest otherwise. As I have said elsewhere, I don't necessarily recommend that course of action, but in my case it worked and my account is now up and running. I do not think that action was unreasonable if they have claimed two direct debits, and I would suggest that the first bill is a special case, especially in the current circumstances. I asked not demanded, and they responded accordingly.
Neon Reef would help themselves greatly if they made themselves more contactable for customers, and engaged more.2 -

Yes, but there is quite a wide spectrum between ‘immediate’ and ‘never’…
Somewhere reasonable in between? 😉0 -

As you are paying a fixed direct debit that only reflects your expected annual consumption and not your actual monthly consumption, it's pointless to obsess over receipt of a bill.6 -
@Chino Thanks for your input, but once again I beg to differ. You have made two, frankly, ridiculous statements there, and furthermore you seem to be confusing me with someone who cares what you think. Please just concern yourself with your own decisions and actions.1

So I guess thats another week survived. Just submitted the monthly meter reading...really didn't expect to be submitting it to NR by now but glad its the case and long may it continue (although I really can't see how).2
