What a mean trick with the coin! I'm just imagining how I would have tried to style it out if I'd gone to pick it up. 😁 (Apologies for being so late to comment.)5

I would have gone back with a hammer and hit it off...

Hello
have been away for a while but so pleased to read the posts I had missed.
As I have developed terrible hoarding tendencies have had to be really strict when it comes to wombling.
However...........
Walking home from the supermarket I spotted a pair of the most beautiful curtains (pinch pleat), embroidered, lined that I have seen in a long time. I couldn't leave them. I staggered off with them but about 5 houses down had to lean on a wall. They were/are so heavy. The homeowner rushed out because she thought I was having a heart attack !
(I think my face was all red).
She very kindly kept one whilst I dragged the other one home, had a cup of tea and then went back for the second one. No regrets, pure quality. Definitely one of my best finds.
On the other side of the coin I had to go to my Mum's to clear out the hoard I had amassed there after a 6 month stay. Things I had gathered for car boots, yard sales. I put out 5 sturdy bags of books & dvd's, art, bric a brac etc. All very neatly with a 'take me' sign. I was so worried that my Mum would have to cart it all down to a charity shop (she's in her 80's but very determined).
It was all gone in half an hour. They even took the 'take me' sign. Made me smile.
Happy wombling

Today found 20 pence whilst dog walking.
Quite a find in these cash stretched times!
The only other things I have found lately are a couple of supermarket shopping bags (not carriers) being sent flying by strong winds.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Think I might deserve a prize for the most odd womble ever.... a pink grapefruit just on the side of the road... already intending to make mixed marmalade this evening, so in it goes...

Today as I walked back from the pharmacy I peered into the rubbish bin (to check that it had been emptied this morning!)
Looked like a brand new supermarket shopping bag stuffed in. Pulled it out- no, it was a gift bag complete with a china teapot & a china cup & saucer 'to Nana'. Both with roses & pink. Both with their cardboard 'sleeves.' How is it????? We have at least 8 charity shops.
They are both slightly grubby, so presumably unwanted gifts gathering dirt/dust. They will be off to charity shops shortlyBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

It's been a rather profitable month for me so far as finding things is concerned. Aside form the occasional few coins I've found here and there, about 3 weeks ago I was cycling and noticed a £5 note. I stopped to pick it up and then noticed a £10 note about 10ft away so grabbed that too, which is the most cash I've found in one go for a good few years.
I've since found a small box full of glasses which look as though they've been in a pub at one time. I've given them a bit of a clean and saved aside for future use.7
