Today's 'wombling' achieved a 6.5 L slow cooker!
Dumped by the bottle bank.
Struggled up the hill with it and towing the 2 hounds behind!! they were not pleased: their walk was curtailed.
Thought that if it didn't work the ceramic inner would make a good plant pot.
However- it works!!
Now all clean and sparkling awaiting inspiration.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I keep my eyes open for shopping trolleys left some distance from the trolley park by lazy or short on time/harassed shoppers ! Sometimes it`s empty, sometimes there is a pound or a token. And at the least I get a few more steps in !5

I womble anything that can be used in my garden....this year two old potato sorter stands...transformed into raised planters. Various wind break poles....used for plant supports and rabbit fencing. A bathroom rack, keeps lots of small pots with cuttings tidy in the greenhouse. Pots of all sizes. Old boots became planters. Kiddies paddling pool....turned into water garden. Fuchias found growing where they had been tipped out of baskets the previous autumn. Mirrors used as garden feature. Just need to keep eyes open and have a little imagination! Looking forward to next year's garden.5

I've wobbled a fridge freezer in perfect working order (looked less than 2 years old), a car ramp, hydrolic car jack and jack stands and a couple side tables.6

Not quite wombled as it was from our local reuse FB page but very pleased with our new to us fire surround. We only got a few odd looks and words of advice as we carried it home (just under a km). Quite glad that the very interested old
black Labrador we met only had a sniff and didn’t decide to pee up the surround or me!

I've happily been wombling other people's excess produce at our allotment site this summer, having had a knockback with my own beans & squashes, probably due to contaminated manure, though they've done fine in the end. Anyway, that's led me to think I will actually try to grow crookneck squashes (tromboncino) next year as you get a whole lot more produce in the same space as, say, a courgette plant, using height rather than just the ground surface. (If we get a real glut of something, we leave the excess by the water pump for others to use, or take it down to the community kitchen.) I'm constantly on the lookout for useful things like plastic water pipe, tent pegs & poles, & scaffold net, all of which can generally be found just lying around in skips (I always ask!) to use down there.Angie - GC Aug25: £292.26/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)2
