  • Serious womblers- from skips - perspex desk chair. tailors dummy, working lawnmowers, large Terracotta Pots, 1960s vinyl footstool, vintage car tools. From neighbours house clearances - vintage mid century lamps & light fittings, breakfast bar stools In perfect condition, old westclox electric kitchen clock, numerous doors. Constantly amazed about what people skip!
  • I've happily been wombling other people's excess produce at our allotment site this summer, having had a knockback with my own beans & squashes, probably due to contaminated manure, though they've done fine in the end. Anyway, that's led me to think I will actually try to grow crookneck squashes (tromboncino) next year as you get a whole lot more produce in the same space as, say, a courgette plant, using height rather than just the ground surface. (If we get a real glut of something, we leave the excess by the water pump for others to use, or take it down to the community kitchen.) I'm constantly on the lookout for useful things like plastic water pipe, tent pegs & poles, & scaffold net, all of which can generally be found just lying around in skips (I always ask!) to use down there.
