Wow, how wonderful. I like many cannot abide waste so anything discarded (no matter where) is begging for a home if it's still usable. Silk flowers are expensive ! (And pretty).
For my Tiggy I used to use plastic bags (the thin ones) but as we mostly have cloth or bags for life I was getting a little worried. Until I remembered a programme about wales. Off the coast of Norway there were Walkers crisp packets and inevitably a beached whale was autopsied and yes, in it's stomach was a Walkers crisp packet which is not recyclable. OH buys the large sharing packets or multi buys. I now use them for my Tiggy, if and when needed. At least they get 2 uses.
Gosh, have gone off on a tangent. What I was going to say was.........what a good idea ! I will be carrying a spare bag from now on.
bala. Although as a dog owner having a pocket full of bags has been very useful for carrying home all sorts of odds and ends like seashells and pebbles on days out and about , lets hope we will be back going out and about again soon .

Maybe not the thread for this but I wish for my Murphy everyday. A Staffie with the gentlest heart and the most sloth-like attitude I have ever come across in a dog.

Well, it seems that all of this time I have been 'Wombling'. I thought that only applied to till receipts. Silly me.
This morning I found 3 black buckets. The kind that supermarkets use for fresh flowers. No handles. I know exactly what I am going to use them for. Dodgy hip makes bending down to look into cupboards difficult. I will use these 3 for the things I use most (cleaning products etc) and have them at the front, easy to pull out. Voila !
happy findings.........

I found a lovely red ribbon - from someone's hair, I think, in the grass at the edge of our village carpark. Fished it out, put it through the wash, added it to my stash for wrapping.6

Hello
Found 25p on Friday.
Today whilst walking Tiggy the lady that was about to take all her flower pots to the tip (as no-one had taken any) was out again. I stopped to thank her for the few pots I took in the summer (people pay for these !). Today she was getting rid of books and CD's........again to go to the tip. She offered me them all but I only took a few as I am decluttering. All gratefully accepted by very young nieces but it is 'modern' music.
I should have called this the wombling thread as allegedly that's what I do............
Hope you're all well

zeus my faithful hound and I collected £17.05p from our very early (4am) walks last year!! mostly penny pieces!5

That's amazing for pennies. I managed over £100.00 but I found £30.00 on the street and the rest in old bags and wallets. I realised that everytime I change wallets I tuck away £10.00 for emergencies and then add new one to new wallet. Duh !
Am always borderline broke so how I could forget, I don't know. This year will probably be slimmer pickings as EVERY bag, wallet, purse, mound of receipts, and coat/jacket pockets have been checked. And emptied !
good luck for this year. Zeus........great name.

I collected two beautiful hand painted flower pots which had been put in our big communal bins - they’re brightly coloured terracotta pots which I’m going to put my basil and rosemary plants in. I did once find a pink velvet chaise longue left by the bins, but it was a bit beyond my means to get it home! My clothes maiden and coffee table were also bin treasure!5
