Why not get one of those trays that has a lid, no mess there

I have one of them. They are great. I am in a one bed flat and you wouldn't know I have a cat. Can't smell anything.
I have one cat called Summer, a pedigree, she is 4, I have had her since 3 months. She wouldn't like it if we got another one, she rules the roost and she knows it. Her eyes aren't that evil, just come out like that in photos.A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -

I know this sounds really morbid but sometimes I panic about what I would do if I came home and found her dead. She is quite old and has a few health problems, seriously though, what would I do in that circumstance???
You'd either have to have a friend with a garden where she could be buried at short notice (my old cat who lived in our flat was buried by my husband in my Mum's garden, and we have several buried in our own garden now), or arrange for the vets to take her as soon as they can; if you go for their cremation service, they will return her ashes to you. For obvious reasons you'd want to deal with this within a few hours of finding her, so when it comes to it, wrap her in something like a towel or jumper and put her in a cat basket while you're getting it sorted.
It's always traumatic; my husband snuggled on the sofa for a snooze with one cat asleep on his chest and when he awoke it had died in its sleep. He called me while I was on my way home and we buried him in the garden that night.0 -
Thank you. It's always good to be prepared. I tend to be a bit of a worrier, I live on my own at the moment and don't have a car or any family nearby.
I hope she has a good few years left in her yet, she is still as naughty as a kitten and plays with bits of string and the reflections from mirrors!0 -

Our family cat (now my dads cat after my parents divorced), Tibby, is 23! Apparently the vet tells us that this isn't that unusual anymore! She has been knocking at the door now for the past 5 years, has had problems with her kidneys, liver, teeth, she's completely deaf and senile, but she's a fighter alright. She's still going strong :j
She stopped going into the living room around 2 years ago, wouldn't step foot in it, then my dad relpaced the carpet last month with a new fluffy green one and now shes back in there. Apparently she didn't like the decor!
Edited to add she also likes to be fed exactly one tablespoonful of food every hour! You've seen nothing like the pampering this cat gets!0 -
we have two - a big tabby and a maine coon kitten. Who at 7 months is almost as big as the tabby yet behaves like a kitten still. I'd have more if we had the space, probably another coon as she is the most loving little girl. and doesn't shed ! yippee!!
Actually, I notice a couple of you have Maine coons. Out of interest, do you feed them anything special? Obviously there are lots of breed specific diets but I don't know if they are worth bothering with, plus at the moment (7 months) she is permenantly starving and eating everything in sight!0 -

We have 5 cats! All cherubs, every one of them!
They all get on really well too, they are always snuggling up to each other, and sometimes I'll enter a room in my house only to find 3 or 4 of them sleeping on the bed!We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.
