  • You may have difficulty finding a kitten around xmas as lots of rescue centres will not rehome animals during the festival period

I have two cats...I would love a 3rd but it would cost way too much food and insurance wise and also my cats had enough difficulty adapting to each other so I wouldnt want to put them through that again

I have 2 at the moment, but had 8 at one time. I'm considering getting a couple of kittens but I have recently got a new dog so want all the pets to 'settle' down a bit first.
Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! :D

I have 0 pets. They are a huge responsibility.
Also, I am in rented accommodation and it's not allowed.

If I ever did have a pet, it would either be a dwarf lop eared rabbit, or a cat. Just one.

I have 5, but it's too many! One or two are constantly being bullied and it's [strike]difficult[/strike] impossible to have them all in the house without a spat occurring. They have a pecking order, but it changes from day to day!

Worming and Frontlining costs a lot. 2 are large breeds and are prohibitively expensive to insure! One of the moggies has dodgy teeth and another has multiple allergies, so vet's bills are always looming.

I would have stuck at 3 max, but 2 were acquired by my OH -cos he's a softie!

This is one of my concerns actually, the two we have are brother and sister they love each other dearly, always grooming each other and can often be found curled up asleep together. I need to make sure they would settle in ok.

I have found somewhere to get the kittys from they have quite a few (12wks) and they are only asking nominal fee for them.....One sounds ideal for my mum we are hopefully going to view them on wed/thurs.

For yourself why not wait for a few weeks or so after Xmas is over and approach your local homes, they become inundated.

One of teh girls I work with has 4 cats she is "fostering" at the moment and we've just had a collection of bits at work so that she can equip a shed in her garden to house another 4 after Xmas when it becomes a nightmare for these charities.

Maine Coons. I have a grey tabby (my avatar) and the hyper-allergic Tig, a brown tabby.

We've got 3, and we also have 2 dogs as well  2 of the cats are brothers, we've had them 4 years now, we managed to get them just before the christmas, but it was on the understanding they werent xmas presents, we did originally ask for one, but rescue didnt want to seperate the 2 brothers, We had lost our previous cat through old age mid-november, and missed her dreadfully. We were glad we got the 2 as they were good company for each other, and being ferrals, they were a bit wild, but thankfully having each other, they didnt cause as much damage to the house as we expected :rotfl: Our 3rd cat we just rescued in october, shes also ferral, but a lot wilder than the 2 boys. Shes wrecked the christmas tree, but we all love her so much its hard to get mad with her  Even though shes ferral, she seems to be heading towards being a house cat, as she showed interest in going outside (its a nightmare trying to get out the door sometimes) the one time I carried her outside, she panicked and wanted to go straight in, I'm secretly hoping shes too scared to ever go out, as she just looks so small at the moment I cant imagine her going out side and facing all the other big cats. She gets speyed in the newyear, and microchipped when shes under the anasthetic, but I'm in no hurry to let her outside.
