KAZ - Ring trading standards in the morning, as soon as you can. The garage have sold you a dangerous car! If the power steering failed that could have caused an accident. Get onto them ASAP. They usually like getting their teeth into something like this. Even a threat of contacting them to the garage will probably get them to sort the problem out ASAP. Been there twice myself, the bad press for the first one, well what can I say, the garage is now a bed shop! Oh and see if you can get a courtesy car while they repair the car!

Night night Dusty, please the 'tail' is now fixed

Woohooo my thanks button is working again! Funny how lil things amuse!!!!

Alas Dusty no progress so far (thanks for asking :) ) I did start trying to track (get it :p) down the loose/faulty bulbs and managed to break one then got sidetracked with several calls and ebay stuff I needed to do so I shall try again tomorrow.

I know what DH would have done, check and test all the bulbs and then the wiring along the whole thing. Then if he couldn't sort it (although being an electrician in a former life he would most likely have sorted it) he would tip his head to one side, give me his cute grin and say 'we'll have to go and get a better one'! W is such a train fan that I will make sure it either works or we get a replacement. Will post a pic when we get sorted ;)

The good news for today is that we went to the garden centre with mum after school and bought the cutest rooted Christmas tree to sit outside the front door. Just need to make sure I don't overwater it like I did with last years. Will deck it with lights tomorrow.

And on that note I bid you all goodnight.

Well there you go, threaten to call the VOSA aswell, in fact call them if they've got really arsey already, that should have been an MOT fail if it was leaking fluid (must have been if was threaded)! Don't let them get away with it. Too many garages selll dangerous cars. First one I mentioned, the first night (after an MOT and 100 point check (my A*se)) DP nearly hit a wall as the brakes failed.

Change what I said, you want either a courtesy car or compen towards taxi fares etc, demand one or the other, look forward to hearing about you stamping your feet and getting it sorted!!!

  • As promised I did get on after Nigella!

    Update:
Washing up done with DS however did have to call him back twice to get him to finish the wiping up - you would think at nearly 17 he would understand the concept of an empty draining board means you have finished!
oven and grill cleaned including the shelves. Cooker top and front also cleaned.

Wm on and waiting to move to TD.

Several bits put away into coal shed or glory hole!!

Persauded stropping DD to finish picking up ironing pile that they had spread all over the hall and place into large tesco/sainsbugs bags - the theory being that I can do one bag full a night!

Off to bed now as tired - TD will have to go on tomorrow.

    night night all

Lil_me, pair of tights stuffed with newspaper! I remember making them when I was a kid and we were poor like Oliver.

Mopped the living room, did my nails, poked the ironing pile with a stick and idly thought about bunging it in the TD for 15mins and quickly folding it..

tiamai but I don't own any tights, I'm thinking make them out of something I have, but can't think of anything, maybe a pair of trousers with 'airholes' in them, but I like them, they are my comfy ones :o

well done everyone for a productive day, I'm off to bed now, sweet dreams everyone

here's hoping I get a bit more done tomorrow, oh and the threat of no No.4 worked, trainset away, even if DS1 did swear at me, little terror he is!

Ooh, this is the day I need today!! I made a good start yesterday, but didn't get everything done. However, my kitchen does look a whole lot better so I am pleased with the progress.

I would very much like to get my lounge and hall etc done today, so will be endeavouring to cross much of the list off by the time I go to college this evening.

Tuesday - Lovely Living Rooms and Safe Stairs
    Level One
Vacuum floors in these areas, even if around clutter
    Check fire alarms are working
    Level Two
Move things so you can vacuum under them
Vacuum and wipe (if needed) sofas
Dust any areas below eye level
    Level Three
Dust anything above eye level (if safe to do so)
Clean light switches and light fittings (if you can reach the fittings safely, make sure they are off first!)
Clear anything that shouldn't be where it is, should the magazines really be on the floor?
Extra Mission Tasks - as usual if you fancy tackling something else you could try one or more of these
    • Clean a radiator or more if you have time
    • Spend 15 minutes sorting paperwork, dealing with anything urgent NOW
    • 27 Fling Boogie, you know the routine, grab a bag and clear that clutter!
    • Sort one drawer or cupboard you've been putting off even opening! Even if it's just for 10 minutes.
    • Find a place for something that doesn't have one, what are you sick of moving from one place to another? or what just gets dumped because it doesn't have somewhere to live? (Partners and children not included, no rehoming of those today unless necessary)
    • In addition, I need to do the pile of ironing in the living room, do the dishwasher, do some more washing.
    Have a good day everyone!

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)
  • What a struggle I've had getting on here this morning.. I'm going to start with..a cuppa..
Plan for today is to tidy the livingroom, I think I'm going off list as it isn't too bad but the cream sofa covers desperately need washing. I mean there's only so many times you can turn the cushions and seats before you see the week before last's supper/cat paw prints etc..
I think I'm goint to go to town on the train today to get the last few prezzies and search the charity shops for some pirate-like clothes for a fancy dress party in a few weeks, ha harrr! Then I'll write my Christmas cards this evening and wrap the presents. Blimey I'm organised this year!

Kaz, I hope you get some joy re- your car. I'd be tearing my hair out, I hate dealing with confrontational stuff even if I'm right. Good luck at the new GP's Lil_me!

Have a good day all, catch you later.
