    • Wipe down any tiles and shine those taps a toothbrush is great for cleaning away the gunk!
    [/strike]
    • Clean oven if you didn't do it last week It can have my bath after me :D
    • Clean one drawer out, what is that in there? Sort through it and clean it before putting everything back. Woohoo, didn't see this when I read the list but I did the cutlery drawer, it was mysteriously gloopy..
I'm experimenting with a use for WM drawer gunk - hopefully it's still got some of it's Bio-magic powers left so it's in the bottom of the washing up bowl, eating the stains.
I'm not doing the livingroom tonight. The kitchen and shopping took longer than expected - serves me right for skipping a few weeks -but I am going to play with everybody's presents and check reciepts to see who I still need to get small things for. Bonus find of the day was an £85 till reciept in my trolley at Mr T's that hadn't been Clubcarded. I'm sad I know!

Apologies for higgledypiggledy striking, I gave up trying to make it tidy.

Pigpen you can put lots of stamps and things on mine :D I might just let DS2 loose on ours this year, he can't spell but he loves drawing pictures.

Michelle, not being mean honey but you sound absolutely exhausted, hope you manage to get some rest at some point.

Solwaykid, good idea, I try to do mine weekly and just scrape it into the drawer.
One day I might be more organised...........

  • Hi all

I am so impressed - you are so organised, I have only just started buying presents. Have managed to get DD some hair straighteners from ebay for her 15th birthday on sunday - if she gets there as she has caused my so much hassle today.

In the wisdom only a 14 year old can have she took my house keys this morning, when I came to go to work - no keys - panic search cannot locate any keys. Had to leave the house unlocked as had a morning meeting 9 to 11 that I could not get out off. Then off to school to retrieve keys when should have been leaving town for a site visit in another town 40 miles away. DD had to leave PE to give me keys - no apology - just a sarci comment that she needed a way to get into the house as I had a late visit planned.

No recognition that we had supposedly planned a meeting place for after my late visit!! Then a drive to meeting arrive 40 mins late - stressed but there. No time to go back to office for notes so completed reading work documents in the car before final visit. then an hour drive back to work in a rain storm - arrived at 5pm with a splitting headache probably from not having lunch.

Have not tackled any work yet - but will after Nigella - promise.

Thanks for the tip about the oven shelves, will try this as the oven has not been cleaned in weeks - now I think about it - months!!

Thanks for listening to me off load - I feel better now.

    Hi all!

I must say I was very confused when I read your post Dusty - was it a squirrel or a car, until I realised you were talking about the advent chocolate. So far, we have had a train, almond, and a car in that order.

Well, the best laid plans and all that - I got a call at 8.45 asking if I could go to a school near Portsmouth (takes me 30 mins to get there) for the day, so had to get dressed and go, and have been doing my application since I got home. I emailed a copy to my Mum, who shouted at me on the phone saying that I haven't changed anything or used anything she put for my personal statement, despite me telling her what I'd used and where, and then she hung up on me!! So, I showed OH, who said he could sort of see where she was coming from, so I had to redo bits so that I cut it down more. Haven't bothered to email it to my Mum again, cos I know she won't approve, so I've just printed it off and put it in the envelope. It's taken me hours to do, and I haven't even started on the dinner yet, so I give up!

Oh, and I also haven't done any flying! Am booked up for supply for the rest of the week, so don't think Ill be getting anything done til Thursday as I've got a half day.

Hugs to all who need them - must get the food now.

All the cards for my online friends are now done..

Just my thousands of family cards to write now.. they take hours so I'll do some each day for the rest of the week I think.

Uniforms.. mantle wiping, fire cleaning and a 27 fling boogie I think.. and the pack ups need doing. I can reload the WM's and the TD's as well.. and maybe the DW if I can be bothered while hubby sits on his big fat furry!!

    :D :j

We got our first card today, from our new neighbours, must remember to send one to them aswell. I think we miffed a few as we were the first to put the decorations up in the street, now 4 more have theirs up. We've never been the first, usually the last, including once on Xmas eve :o One difference, I went for OTT decorations on the tree so I don't have to have the lights on to often. Thought of the last electricity bill makes me cringe if I switch them on:rolleyes:

Right, tomorrow, need to check what we have on during the day, sure there is something. Ds2 at school until 4pm :D Ds1 at the doctors at 5pm which I am looking forward to like a hole in the head, was a nightmare getting him into the last one where he'd been going since he was a baby, this one is a new one, we know what joys new places can bring  maybe I can just talk to the GP while he runs back home again, which is what I know he'll try to do.

We're going to try to find something and some way of blocking the draught from the garage tomorrow. Problem is where to hang/put something. I also need to trawl some websites and see if I can figure how to make a draught excluder, I have that mini sewing machine I have never used so could try to use that. Mam I know will say she doesn't have time.... I've never made anything from scratch since I was at school....

Wow so many people so many posts !

Welcome to all the new fliers, you'll soon be putting a few of us to shame (me included the first week probably :D ).

Have read all the worries, woes and congrats so big hugs to you all as I cant remember them all.

Ok so what have I done today

Manic Monday- Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One
[strike]Clear and wipe those surfaces[/strike] - Yep did those
    Level Two
[strike]Clean floors[/strike] - OK hoovered but not washed but I did pull the sideboards out and hoovered underneath
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front - will do tomorrow before Mr T delivery
    [strike]Wipe dining table[/strike] - Yep done
    Level Three
[strike]Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round[/strike] - got chased by doogie when I had the duster but done
[strike]Wipe & replace small appliances such as kettle, toaster[/strike] - ok not done but done last week so not doing
[strike]Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances, don't forget those kick boards[/strike] - again not done, but done last week
[strike]Check those washing machine[/strike],- cant undo it [strike]tumble dryer[/strike], done [strike]cooker hood [/strike]dont have and [strike]dishwasher filters [/strike]dont look too rank yet so cant be @rsed :D
    Extra Mission
    • [strike]Wipe window sills and clean windows in these rooms[/strike] - too dark outside and cant be bothered inside (but insides done last week)
    • [strike]Wipe down any tiles and shine those taps [/strike] done
    • Check through bakeware, anything that needs a good soak or is past it's use by - need to do but will have to wait til weekend
    • [strike]Clean oven if you didn't do it last week [/strike]- I did it last week :rotfl:
    • Clean one drawer out, what is that in there? Sort through it and clean it before putting everything back - no time maybe at the weekend if it lasts for about 6 weeks
I dont think thats too bad at all really as I didnt get in from work until 5 and cooked tea from scratch - despite OH being at home most of the day (med roasted veg with chicken on a bed of cous cous - Woooo, and went down very well). Have also made kids lunches for tomorrow.

Ok so what else we been doing. DD was very good up until I said bed time then we ended up getting in a strop with each other, and OH when I got the hoover out said I'm off to bed now (it was 830) so I thought oh well **** you then especially when he gets so few nights off. and then DS got cross with me cos I was in a mood and was grumpy with him.

OH managed to get car to the main dealer garage (mega expensive methinks) and apparently the pipes leading off the power steering pump hadnt been put back properly and were cross threaded so leaking. Of course when we rang garage where we got it he said it wasnt covered as it wasnt a break down of the part, so now we have all sorts of arguments going on between OH, the garage thats got the car, the garage where we got the car and the garage that have done ALL the work ever done on the car (as we have the complete listing) as to who's fault it is. And I have NO CAR to get to work and am scrounging lifts.

And the best part (NOT) because he put the car on his card as we bought it in a hurry and couldnt transfer the money, Egg have taken the payment for it twice and put his account £5k overdrawn so he's got NO money to pay for it until Egg repay him and we all know how long they take.

Still I did have to remind him how lucky we are as my friend came back to work who lost her son and it reminded me what we have to be thankful for.

So we'll all plod on again as tomorrows another day and I will wake up with a smile ;)
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
