Long time lurker here who could really do with some help. I don't know if I'd be allowed to join so let me explain. I am 5 foot tall and weigh 10Stone 12oz, my main problem is that I can eat sweet stuff all day everyday but eat very little proper food, a usual day would be a honey sandwich made with 2 slices of a small wholemeal loaf, lunch either vegi sausage and beans (half a tin) or peanut butter sandwich (made with the same size loaf) Dinner maybe a boloc or stir fry made with quorn or a bean casserole followed by ice cream or chocolate of some sort. I drink tea with lacto free milk and have cut down from 3 to 1 sugar in each cup.
I eat very small potions, maximum I have is about 4 tablespoons at dinner time, I think I get bored so just stop eating and then go onto eat something sweet straight after.
I'm trying to up my walking now that I can get out more so have that part of it in hand.
Any help would be much appreciated thank you.Illegitimi non carborundumQuot Libra, Quam Breve TempusSPC NUMBER 025

Hello tonisfriend and hanert 👋👋 And welcome. We don't normally get three new people on the same day. Think Brambling must have put a half price offer on!!!
Hanert, the only way I can deal with sugar is to have none. At all. Not even sweet things in the house. Or bread. I cant regulate it, if I have some I must have more, and so it goes on. Like opening a floodgate. I've been dieting a year and eating healthy and I'm still the same. Sugar must be my Achilles heel. I have fruit for puddings which I have got used to. 🙂
A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks8 -
Hi All, And welcome Toni's Friend and other newbies. Not weighing in today, as I've got sticky lb's this week.
B was oat porridge w half apple, chia seeds, half water and half milk(and honey) and a coffee.
Exercise was a sluggish 5 k this morning. 5 out of 10 but not exactly in 10 days. Practicalities!

Hi Hanert of course your welcomed, we are a friendly and supportive bunch and all are welcomed
Do you have a target you want to set yourself until the end of this challenge at the 30th Sept?
I think you're right in that if you're not eating enough meal times, are you picking between meals and then not hungry for the next meal. Like TTB i have issues with sugary snacks and sweets and once I open a packet can't usually stop at one so to lose weight successfully i try to avoid any of it. Baby steps and just remember if you cut out sugar completely you will probably get sugar withdrawal with headaches so just try to cut back a little at a time. We all try something a little different and borrow ideas from each other, there's no magic answer unfortunately and be prepared to occassionally fall off the weight loss wagon we will pull you back on again, at any given week there is usually one of us struggling to get back on after a blip

Thanks for the lovely welcome. I've been battling with my weight all my adult life and thought I was just being greedy. My sister was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovaries (PCOS) whilst trying for a baby and suggested I got tested Turned out I also have it which explained a lot of the weight gain and a few other things.
I've lost quite a lot already and am now trying to shift the last stone (possibly a little more) which is proving to be very stubborn. For some reason this is the best time of year for me diet wise so it make sense to make a fresh start now.9 -
Welcome to the new posters xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.7 -
Thank you all. What a lovely welcome.
monnagran - Probably get shortened to TF. It usually does. And next time my son (aka the Boy - although he's 35) pats me on the head and says "you're so tiny" I'll just tell him I'm undertall.
It's been so good (meant in a nice way, I assure you) to see that so many people share the same difficulties in loosing weight. Give me a packet of biscuits and I can't stop till I've finished the lot.
Food order has been delivered. Fridge is looking very healthy with lots of fruit and veg and salad type things. Got a plan but dinners are a bit of a problem when with eating with my OH (aka Himself). He seems to be able to eat anything without putting on an ounce. I'm sure you'll all keep me right.
Thanks again for the welcome.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
Hi
Welcome new joiners, well done losers and sts-ers and commiserations on gains.
Weighday for me -1/2lb please Brambling.
The 12 weeks of my modified fast800 plan are up.
In total I’ve lost 21 1/2lbs which is eerily close to my tracking apps prediction on that calorie amount.
Not sure where I go from here really except I’ll be sticking with a lowish carb allowance just upping the calories. Tomorrow I was having a time out with a gluten free breaded chicken thingy from Marks for dinner. I bought it just before I decided to start a diet so stuck it in the freezer. I’ve just put it on my meal planner app and it turns out it’s been well within my allowances all along so I could have had it before now. I’d presumed it wouldn’t be with the breading. I might also have oven chips if I fancy some, push the boat out!
Take care all.

Well done Gingerlily that's pretty good going
Did you watch the Michael Mosley lose a stone in 21 days program which used the 800 calorie a day diet for 3 week. I'm not convinced I have the will power to follow it although i suppose if i was announcing my weight on TV I could probably stick to it for 3 weeks but it would be just as well i live alone and i think i would be very grumpy
