Hi Toni'sfriend welcome aboard
you're right there is no 'quick' fix and we all have different paths we follow
I'll add you to the chart do you want to set a target to take you to the end of this challenge (30th Sept)Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin6 -
Thank you for letting me join. I'm going on holiday at the end of September (that's not the reason I want to loose weight. I need to loose it for my health's sake) which is in five weeks. I've read that a pound a week is a reasonable and healthy loss so does 5 pounds seem like a reasonable goal?Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6

1lb a week is a good amount to aim forLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin6

Welcome Toni'sfriend! 1 lb per week is what I aim for, although it doesn't always happen for me! Realising that there isn't a quick fix is a very good first step!
I managed to keep carbs out of my diet yesterday! It's a big achievement for me!6 -
Brambling - the dervish is still whirling but have enlisted help today as shattered.
Have just had a bit of a binge - all sweet foods. Its because Im so tired. Its gonna be a long day but going to try harder. Bit disappointed with myself tbh.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.6 -
Morning All
Thank you for all your well wishes, dd did very well, to be honest the whole grading system seems very confusing now but in old money she ended up with 6 A's and 3b's more than enough to get in to college, we are all so very proud ❤️, she enjoyed the cheesecake, I had 1 piece but no more now as luckily I am not a cheesecake fan.I however, have let the side down with a gain of +1lb, I can't seem to get to grips this year with staying on track, dh has decided to cook steak and chips today, it is a very rare event, him cooking, so I don't want to complain, he even did the shopping himself!I am off with the kids for their last 2 weeks before they return to school, so I shall try my best to get back on track 😗'You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose' - Dr Suess

Sorry Marion2 I missed your post
welcome to the group, I have added you to the chart
SIRENS it's been a strange year and I've yet to reach a target, all I'm hoping to do is survive to the end of the year without needing to find my bigger clothes out from under the bed. Good results for your DD
Molly - there is something about being tired which makes us go for sugar so don't be too hard on yourselfcan you have a nap when the dervish sleeps

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin5 -
Hi everyone, and welcome to Marion 2 and Toni's friend.
I weighed in yesterday and was astonished to have lost THREE POUNDS!I think I must have had water retention which released itself with the cooler weather.
It is hot again today so I am not going near the scales in case its all back on.

Morning Losers,
Welcome marion and Toni's friend (interested to see what your username gets shortened to.)
Tonisf, (see, its already started, although my tablet wants to call you 'tonic') I am 1 inch taller than you, and what you weigh now is what I am aiming for by Christmas. So you see, you're not overweight, you're just undertall.
Still persevering with my 'eat whatever I like, but mindfully and slowly and stop when I feel full enough' diet. It is slow going but easy. I found that I was throwing quite a lot of food away - with gritted teeth and guilty conscience, so now I have cut down my portions with the promise to myself that If I want to I can can always make more. Fortunately, as well as being greedy I am also naturally lazy, so the 'getting more' doesn't happen often.
I will spare the newcomers the long and tedious story of my decades of weight losing. It would take a lifetime to read and Tolstoy has already done War and Peace.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Have trouble remembering how to fly.9
