I've started budgeting on paper for July so when I get paid on Wednesday then I can move the right amounts to the correct 'pots'
Washed clothes overnight to use the cheaper rate electric.
Will have a NSD today and tomorrow and probably Wed/Thurs as well, as I have everything I need for meals until the weekend- still using up excess in cupboards.
Bottom line;
£49k paid off
Car HP paid off
Debt Free!
Saved Escape fund and moved out.
Current focus; saving Emergency fund6 -
Today was a bit of a washout, but in the end I got some great deal on some t-shirts in town. And a couple that's going back. One is still under consideration. I did manage to read my meter for electric and gas and magically the usage is under my monthly payments for the first time. Why does two people have to make toast for lunch in the oven at different times! The mysteries.
I also had a look at the overall bills and am very worried about massive income drop in August and September. So I decided to prepay the water bill that's due next month and if they decide to read the meter, they might get the hiccups as we have been 3 people since January.So I thought better preempt that now.
Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
Emergency fund: 100/1000 10%
Weight loose 8.6 kg - while having fun. 0/8.6 0%

Plans for today:
* home schooling
* water plants
* debating whether to go to the allotment for an hour now before oh goes to work
* do some kind exercise class.
* los for tea. Add tin toms and veggies to a portion for bolognese and make a pasta bake :win:disappointed:
* load of washing on the line this morning - it looks like it's going to be raining from early afternoon
* sit with madam while she does some knitting. She's just learning and man it makes my eyeballs itch!
* do some sewing - I have 3 orders of sanitary pads to make, 14 in total. Hope to get at least 5 done throughout the day

Lovely to ‘see’ you @determined_new_ms. Of course we’ll have you back.... passes virtual coffee and cake and pulls up a chair (at a socially appropriate distance of course!) 😁
New business idea, sounds intriguing. Hope it works out for you! As for teaching madam to knit, my two have learned during lockdown which I love. What I don’t love is having to frog it when they don’t concentrate and drop a stitch! They’re making something for their teachers which is simple and I’ve asked them to count stitches after every row, which they do
but the youngest has a habit of occasionally creating a stitch so although she has the right number she may have dropped on and added one on the same row!7 -
We've only done 4 rows purps and it's really hard to not constantly correct her, yesterday we worked on holding the needles and yarn techniques. But she does seem particularly motivated so that's something. She's a good kid but hardly ever really fired up for somethingPurpleFairy26 said:Lovely to ‘see’ you @determined_new_ms. Morning all
Lovely to 'see' you back DNMS. Good luck with the new business. Is it related to sewing? Smiles at the little ones learning to knit, My Mum taught me when I was about 4, but I never did get any better at it
Anyway, OH is going fishing with DS today so I will have the day to myself. He will be dropping off our old camper van at the garage first though, for the repair it needs to pass its MOT, so that will need to be paid for.My plans for today are:Early morning dog walk (done)Home grown strawberries for breakfast
(done)Clean / tidy upstairsFridge shrapnel for lunch (OH will take his with him)Think of something for dinner - it will be something I already have.May harvest first basil from the 'plantation' I always grow in troughs in my little greenhouse. I process it into pesto, which freezes if I don't want to use it straight away - but actually pesto pasta could just as well be today's dinner
Repot a couple of aubergine plants into their final big potsAnd I ought to list some things on ebay...6 -
Morning folks!
@crazy_cat_lady and @determined_new_ms good to "see" you
Feeling pretty chipper today but stuck in work. I only get half an hour lunch break so I don't really bother trying to take much of a break. Grey and autumnal here. I'm in winter tights and a jumper! It doesn't help that we have to keep the office windows open d/t covid mitigation.
Today's list:
B/L/D from stores - done
OH to drive past the tip and check the queues - done. Massive.
Workout when I get home - nope. nipped to allotment for a bit.
OH to do the housework - done
Check PMP - done
Log cals in free app. Healthy eating going well as am back into my size 10 jeans
Also weirdly discovered that a pair of jeans that I thought had died and were long gone were salvageable and still in my wardrobe! Took a pair of horrible cropped jeans that my mum passed me out of the cupboard to use as patching fabric. - done
Maybe a bit of knitting - nope
Have a good one all
