thanks for lists, I do appreciate them even if I do my own thing rather a lot.
Still decorating although all walls and ceiling now done (took 4 coats to cover over the old colour). We'd hoped to do the woodwork the same Ivory as the hall/landing, but needless to say that colour was discontinued so we picked something which, according to the tin and charts, looked similar. It went on looking white so I had a hissy fit as I detest white paintwork - it's for hospitals and old people - so Mr N checked in the garage and we did have half a tin left of the Ivory. Hopefully it will be enough as it is going on top of the undercoat and hated "Alberta" or whatever it is.
Yesterday I had a bit of a frustrating day with orders; we needed new house phones and also a storage unit. Why do companies advertise them, give all the details then just at the last stage of ordering say they are unavailable? Rewind to choose another and ditto. However, finally have done a click & collect phones from C£rry's (very efficient, having seemingly had a delivery overnight of what I tried to order yesterday but was unavailable, so spent ages deciding on a substitute!). Ditto located a unit in Truro (hello to FBO if she ever reads this) which is going to solve all my messy boxes, bags and clutter in the bedroom..............
However I'm a bit ahead having had a major vacuuming session downstairs yesterday, cleaned the kitchen reasonably and done some minor tidying in the lounge.
Today I have:
- painted the laundry box
- culled nearly 200 emails
- answered 3 emails on my waiting list
- taken bedroom curtains to dry cleaner (yippee, didn't know they had an offer of take 2 prs of curtains, one is cleaned for half price!!!)
- filled car with petrol (and me with a C0sta)
- collected prescription
- tied in a few tomatoes/melons in greenhouse
-updated task list
- checked notParkRun results (are you putting any on Goodintentions?
- put dry washing away.
Just had an email to say the storage unit is 'on its way'. Oddly really looking forward to filling it up.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -

I have done everything of importance on my list. Now I'm shattered.
DH came home from the GP surgery an hour later than expected, having had to call out the AA man to change a flat tyre. However, there appears to be no locking nut in the new-to-us car, so Mr AA has had to put a temporary plug in the screw hole, and DH will go and demand a locking nut from the dealership tomorrow morning so that he can get the tyre repaired properly or replaced, as necessary. Goodness knows where he's picked up a screw, but there it is.
However, it means that he may not be able to come with me and Rosie to see DS2 and family tomorrow
Well done with your wallpapering, pigpen.
I'm going to collapse in front of the TV for the rest of the evening and watch rubbish.11 -
Amazing wallpaper and progress, pigpen.
I peaked with flying by 8am. This evening has been limited to sticking pizza in the oven for dinner, tidying the kitchen and setting the dw to run, and then watching some tv with DD. After I had spent 35 minutes on hold to customer services, and then not getting my query solved. Much as I hate it, I will be back on to them again at the end of the week and see if we have progress.
DD is shattered again after her morning at school. I can’t imagine how she is gong to cope if / when she goes back for more than half a day a week. DH was told on his first day back from furlough that his department is being closed down in the UK, although we don’t know exactly when. At least it seems that we might have a decision to work towards, even if the dealings are dirty.I am going to get my pjs on, make a cuppa and continue to slob. Sorry, ladies, but I am seriously hoping to have a night off from the WAC.9 -
Long day at the paid stuff and I need to be at a site meeting at 8am tomorrow so off to bed now. Skipped my Monday exercise class because I was late up and didnt get time later on, and really missed it. Definitely in a routine with this now.
No flying done either, other than the basics. Oh and I have done my Asd@ shop, if that counts. Night all x9 -
Good evening
Well, I didn't get everything done that I wanted (no change there then!) After the paid stuff (more of a favour really, as I don't work Mondays, just dropping a little girl to school) of just over an hour this morning I went to the allotment for a few hours. I filled 3 trugs up with weeds, picked some raspberries and tied in some tomatoes. I also fetched and spread 2 trolley loads of wood chips. Not much to show for 3 hours! I came home for lunch.
DH was doing the food shop (yay!). He also promised to clean the bathroom as he was going to shave later (he always seems to have a shave when I have just cleaned it!) I scrubbed the toilet after I got out of the shower and decided to leave the rest to him. I haven't checked if he did it yet! So much for doing the list
I have done some shredding and topped up the bins for composting with paper and woodchips to mix in. Other than that, not much has been done (hangs head in shame.....) Oh, but I did trim my fringe and get DH to trim the back of my hair!
We think we have a mouse..... DH and I keep seeing something out of the corner of our eye. We have placed some bait in the cupboard under the stairs. I love wildlife, but not uninvited in the house
Narc0 funnily enough I only spotted the parkrun thing this evening. Is it new? Or have I been missing it since the start of lockdown?I haven't managed to run a whole 5k recently, so maybe that might get me motivated......
Full day of the paid stuff tomorrow. I will see what I can do around work. Early start again, so I will probably walk the dog on the school run to kill 2 birds and all that.9 -

usually I am about in the 250-300th...........if there is one thing the lockdown has done it has made me increase my distance; I'm still easily overtaken by a fast walker (especially uphill - as I found out on Sunday when a man who looked older than me strode past) but I have managed to get just over 7km now. Prior to lockdown I tended to do 3-4.5km as my 'usual' with just a ParkRun now and then. Having time to do it is probably a significant factor too, and it has been nice exploring new routes.
Since my earlier post I have made and eaten a pizza and ditto the peanut butter cookies, thanks for sharing the recipe - Mr N was very impressed! Have also culled a few more emails and sorted some photos. We have put the bookshelves back on the newly painted bedroom walls so I'm going to have a trawl through and see if I have any Amaz00 vouchers I can use to replace books with Kindle versions and do a bit more space-making.
Also filled bird feeders yet again. The baby starlings are eating me out of house and home!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.12 -
3 small bits of papering left to do.. one requires unplugging the router... cue the apocolypse.. the second is having a plug socket fitted next week so it would be ruined.. and the third was next to a cat tray and I'm not sure whether to paper or tile or do what with it.. it does require scrubbing and I'm not sure wallpaper could handle it.. I did consider wallpaper and a bit of acrylic sheet over it so it looked the same but was scrubbable.

I am thrilled with my new DW. It has a light that shines on the floor so you know it's on and don't open mid-cycle and a delay timer function so I don't have to go down and switch it on. I'm sure these features were not mentioned on the website so I'm not sure I have the model I paid for...
just woke up so popped a wash on but I'm back in bed. Today might be the best drying day all week.
I got the kitchen cleaned bar the floor so that's a job for today.
