  • Hello, I just wanted to pop a post on after reading the last few pages of your diary in an aim to 'get to know' you  :)
I'm so sorry to hear about your relative and have a slight understanding of how difficult it can be to care for someone with dementia. You sound like you are a great support to them.
Its lovely to hear that you got a gift to help out around this time of year and give you a bit more security. I use the phrase 'price per wear' to justify some spends  wink:
I'm relation to surveys I would say pr0lif1c is a good one but has a slight downfall that surveys are not always available when you have time. Do you use any others? I have a few set up so can circle them to see which have available surveys when I have time and it works quite well. I would of course be happy to share the details with you if you feel this may help.
Take care, remember to try and take a bit of time to recharge your batteries where possible.
    Thanks LW2G!
We are all trying to get a proper diagnosis, but, obviously the NHS is a bit busy at the mo...., I can only do what I can....

Yes, still pinching myself! Although the thermals have been a huge relief in the cold. :)

I do PA; but, my poor old brain went into a bit of meltdown trying another one when something wouldn't let me re-log on. I don't know why but my brain seems to be on a 'go slow' and any change stresses me out. Maybe it's all the stuff happening, don't seem to cope with any stress now.... I keep blaming the tablets, but, I really think its the brain (brain farts?) :D

Definitely stick with what you are comfortable with. I hope you can get the diagnosis soon.

Sorry to hear of all your stress with family. The NHS has stepped up for us lately over various issues with hubby and as they want to keep elderly folk in their own home you may get faster help than you expect - I do hope so xxx

Well he did come, unfortunately he added variation with a nightmare, so I got up at 4.15am....

Definitely decided I am trying to juggle stress/worry of relatives plus trying to ignore my MH too much. I am dragging myself over there doing a bit for them, and repeatedly trying to get my relative to take meds/fluids properly, and it's tiring coming back to walk the dog too. And then avoiding what I am supposed to be doing for my PTSD.... and then stress eating and ignoring the scales. :/

Still checking the survey site (PA) though, in-between trying to do money-saving stuff, aiming to do 'normal' routine - which is part of what I am supposed to do for my MH....

Cheers LW2G - my brain is still puttering on....

  • Definitely try and keep your personal routine going, adapt it to when you're helping relative. I appreciate it's a very difficult time for you, but if you're not looking after yourself, you won't be able to help anyone. That's not a pressure, but reality, we're all looking out for you.

  • Thanks Babs. I wake up and the first thing I want to do is rush over to relatives home. I have to really force myself into my routine, especially as the dog needs her walks, do my chores first (cos I am so tired when I get back just want to eat), push myself to shower, then look for surveys on here and doodle about in here first.

I am failing a bit on my MS goals, not writing them out, and then dashing over to the relatives..... if it's a good day, there is less stress, but, weirdly just as tiring even if it is.... still, all the walking must be burning off those biscuits/chocs/cake/crisps. Yes. I am eating the Xmas stuff early! Sod it.... :D

  • Give yourself a few hours of home time. Do things like washing up, washing etc but allocate a day to a room, rather than wizzing around all your home.

Eating things early is known as quality control testing, as it would be a shame to buy something, keep it for Christmas and find we don't like it 😁
