@shellk82 wow 11 weeks! We’re meant to exchange in 28days! What sort of documents do they ask for? Our broker had already told us to expect a request for more docs. If we have to wait 11 weeks our credit should be good enough to go high street due to the dates on a default and pay day loan.
Kent have now said they probably won't look at our application until next week! We will then be moving into 13 weeks. Probably would have been easier if we had waited. They were not happy with my husbands ID even after it was certified at the post office (which they told us to do). They didn't like the stamp they used so we had to have the mortgage adviser do this. They have only just realised my husband is German and asked for his settled status (which we had already sent). Contract of employment for my husband which they didn't seem to read properly and then asked for an employer reference also. It has been a nightmare and so stressful. We have lost our sons place in secondary school due to not having the completion date. Kent have said they would look at the application sooner if we supply a letter from our solicitor confirming the completion date. The solicitor cannot give a completion date until they have the mortgage offer.

@shellk82 ouch that sounds like a very frustrating journey so far, sorry to hear about the school place. Our build isn’t due to complete until December but we do have the 28 days deadline and we’re already 14 days in… I’m just trying to switch off and trust it will all work out. I do know a lot of people are waiting a while with Kent at the mo

We submitted our application on Thursday, broker advised 18 working days for underwriting. Like you guys I'm so anxious and praying I'm not waiting forever for an update, our broker has said they've instructed the valuation but she hasn't had a date but will update if she gets any info.

I have adverse credit (partners is squeaky clean) so I'm very anxious that there will be an issue. Broker has gone over my credit report though to make sure it will pass their criteria and we received a decision in principle instantly. I've never felt anxiety like it...literally lost half a stone in a week 🤣

    ah I’m so nervous.
So Friday we were told we had to provide a letter from a company saying our default was satisfied because 1/3 of the credit agencies was sharing it was unsettled still and if we didnt provide it wojkd be rejected.

we have now submitted it thank god and will hear by Friday. Our MB has said he has escalated it to their contact who may see it before then.

just nervous incase there is anything else. We are putting down 20% and agreed to their new maximum loan so we are doing everything they want.

We've completed! 6 months after reserving and applying for the mortgage. It was 3 days before the mortgage offer ran out so I was on pins! KR did not do another credit check before releasing the funds which I was a little surprised about.

    So happy we are in!
