Good evening
I was up early and had my first cuppa of the day at the allotment at just past 7.30am! It was lovely - I don't usually do early! I stayed for about 2 hours, watering mainly. Pulled a few weeds, picked some raspberries and sowed some carrots, swede and more beans, plus planted a few flowers before they keeled over!
Came home, showered, breakfast & popped to town to get DH a few little bits to open on his birthday. Lazy afternoon. I did manage to empty the DW & WULTD and wipe down the kitchen before DH got home from work. DD2, however, has spent the day sunbathing!
I am going to water the garden now, then maybe do a bit more tapestry or catch up on some TV.
I hope everyone manages to get some sleep!8 -
Hi all
Agree that its lovely to hear you sound happy Dizzy, you have been through some tough times. Very tired tonight, had to do a site visit for work with some colleagues and contractors this afternoon, it was very hot and everyone was trying to look at plans and stay a safe distance apart. Lovely to get out though.
Food is stressing me out at the minute. I am struggling to keep grocery shopping down under £100 a week and still we seem to be constantly running out of things. No-one wants to eat the same meals, DH is coming home from work really late, and I seem to clear up the kitchen 20 times a day (although both boys have helped today). In some ways I will be glad when DS2 goes back to the big city next week. House is reasonably clean and tidy so thats something.
Wont be long before I am in bed.9 -

I did all the "need to" items off my list but only some of the "want to" - it's too hot and I am absolutely shattered! Off to bed already, hoping to get some sleep.

I have spent the day painting spindles.. I blooming loathe them with every fibre of my being! I swear more grew as I was painting. I painted the under stairs bit too.. So, I need one more coat of the black gloss upstairs and Wallpapering can start downstairs.. I am exhausted.
The girls had a paddling pool out today.. screaming ensued in around 12 seconds!
1 load of washing done and dired.. I daren't hang ore out with the girls lashing brown water about.
I am hoping to get the gloss fnished tomorrow so I can start the wallpapering on Saturday.

Getting round to posting at the end of the week.
Not much to report other than most time spent watering and tending to greenhouse and outdoor crops, decorating, keeping up with basics, keeping running and cycling although that's going to be hard if this weather keeps up.
Watching with bemused horror at all the people descending on Bournemouth beach which is near where my Mum lives. She said that she went for a walk on the clifftop yesterday and the crowds were humungous with parked cars dumped everywhere. Why anyone would want to sit on a crowded beach even when there isn't a deadly virus around is a complete mystery to me, much as I love the sea. On the subject of mum - after her 'training' I left her happily chatting to my sister in Canada on Messenger on Monday eve, so I'm proud of her.
We are 'reaping what we sowed' with the decorating - being young and vibrant when we moved in 30yrs ago, we painted the bedroom ceiling and halfway down the walls a bright yellow/gold buttercup colour, with the lower walls being vivid sky blue. Now we want something a little more restful for a change, it's proving a blighter to paint over!! Not helped by those tiny nasty black thunderbug things that have crawled all over it to add to the colour.........
Mr T delivery ordered and will arrive tomorrow.
Corona time has certainly filled up the email inbox; I try to delete things promptly but I'm going to have to schedule in a real culling session.
Still doing my online course (though I'm behind) but having bought the bongos, I've only tried one lesson which is annoying.

pmsl Narco.. I painted the ceiling an orange peach and the walls sunshine yellow in my old house.. and moved out! haha When we moved here the loo was salmon pink and mustard and the bethroom cerise and lime green.. I sanded it.. undercoated it, twice and painted it white.. 3 coats.. it was a nightmare. I feel your pain!! My hallways id currently being painted grey and silver with black gloss!

ExOH painted DS's walls hyacinth blue but also the coving...it took me a week to repaint the coving White. He was such a bodger and would not prep properly. I was going to paint my kitchen and deal with some woodwork but I haven't - yet. Did some online course today and did the aged ps an errand as the aged pa has had a TIA and I took the aged ma to collect him. So I am in sis's good books. Especially as I had to get dressed after I had showered for the second time as I had minced the grass. Pot unwashed. I miss my DW.
