Despite the heat, I've achieved a bit more today than on other recent days:
- cleaned kitchen thoroughly, including mopping the floor
- hoovered all through the house
- dusted all through downstairs
- bleached most of the mould off the bathroom floor
- caught up with an hour's zzz this afternoon (siesta)
- took Rosie for a walk: the old quarry was like a heat sump, despite the shade from all the trees
- made some long overdue phonecalls
- brought remaining F&V from the fridge in the utility into the kitchen fridge, in preparation for this week's fresh delivery
- cooked some sad looking rhubarb with half a jar of stem ginger in syrup, so it tastes a-ma-zing!
- decluttered lots of unwanted photos off my phone.
I must remember to water the pots before the sun gets too high tomorrow.
DH now has another course of antibiotics to take. The GP told him that parrots and codeine both prevent this particular AB from working effectively, and he can't take ibuprofen in conjunction with another prescribed medicine, so he is trying to manage without any painkillers for his hip. I doubt that he'll manage more than a couple of days, he is in so much pain.6 -
Morning all
WAC checking in, I’ve actually made the choice to get up early today, my office was like a sauna yesterday afternoon and I was not very productive, going to start very early this morning to try and get stuff done before the heat is too much....
I managed dailies and the food shop yesterday, it was so nice to be in the air conditioned supermarket! Probably not much more flying than the dailies again today but will see how I feel.
stay cool if you can today, have a good one x7 -
Finally checking in with a progress report, but will catch up with Fred later. I have a new carrot and stick method to survive this time and finally the.Young Skints have been pulling their weight with a digital game of "spot the difference ".DS has a complete set of photographs on his device of how each room is supposed to look, so I don't say "tidy your room", I say "time to make your room picture perfect" he, then bring me back a picture when it's done and then they have technology time.. So because he takes pictures of everyroom before hand then goes off with DD4, and they start taking stuff that belongs in their own rooms out from other places in the house. Funny how when there is photographic evidence they have been "stealing" things from each other, stuff goes back to its original owner more quickly!
So, technology reward time is working so far....
So here's the week so far! I will come back and keep editing this post as I get more completed!

Morning xx
WAC checking in here too xx Waves to BadCat and skint xx
I decided if I woke up at 5 am I'd get up at 5 am. Woke up - 3.55 am. Nope - not happening. I held out until 5.20 and got up after the weirdest dream!! Showered, hair washed, legs finally degorillad - found my skirt (yayy), got dressed, WM is swishing, breakfast has been eaten - I'm going to be ready for my lunch by 10.30 lol. Cup of tea supped. Fan is on!
My hair has grown so much in lockdown that I managed to put it in a ponytail yesterday. The world's shortest ponytail perhaps - but it was off my neck. Hairdresser's appointment is after work on 24th July - I've already 'trimmed' my fringe and over my ears - so tempted to brave the shave , but DS point blank refuses to do it.
Stay hydrated ladies.

Morning all,
I haven't been around much the past couple of days, been flying lots though inbetween working, spending some time in the garden and enjoying the sun. This morning I have watered the garden (first job on the list each day now), set the WM going, prepped the potatoes for tea, loaded the DW, sorted the rubbish and fed & watered the children.
School run shortly, then we need to brave Aldi, I am hoping it will be quiet xx8 -
WAC = wide awake club. It is currently finding a lot of members, but you are welcome to join us, SSDD23! Some of us try to leave occasionally, but it’s a bit like Hotel California...
Up and ready for work. Bed stripped and bedding in wm. I will remake it when I get home. Yesterday was a write off - DD and her friends are now really struggling with the lack of old normality.
Just supping my cuppa, then I’m off to wilt in a stifling office. Now that I have it in my head that I will be giving up this job early in the next academic year, the motivation is somewhat lacking. Too bad if I don’t go through with it, as I will have to pull the proverbial socks up again.
Have a lovely day ladies, and stay cool. X8 -
Morning all, Another hot one here too.
WM on
DW unloaded
Bed made, clothes picked up
Bird rescued and kitchen now needs to be sorted. Came down after my shower this morning to find a yound swallow in my kitchen trying to get out of the closed window with a very excited cat trying to help. Managed to open the window and let the bird out but now it's a case of what hasn't been knocked over. Having coffee first, it's much needed.
Home all day so hope to fly inside as it will be too hot in the garden. See you later.8 -
Ooooh I see, I am definitely usually a member of that at around 6:15 lol x8

2 loads of washing done. Asthma inhaler deployed during the night, pleased to say I'm no longer wheezing. Round I too had my hair up in a pony tail.
