It's not difficult to work out who these people are, it doesn't take long for them to revert to their normal writing style once they're in, halfway through a thread there's that light bulb moment of 'I know who you are'. One even boasted that as they were using a VPN there was nothing MSE could do to stop them. It was sabotage pure and simple and the same disrupters will now follow MSE members over to attempt to do the same on Digital Spy. Hopefully DS has more robust protocols. The forum went downhill when the right wingers took over. Quite a few were aggressive, espcially to new posters, and discussion disappeared. As befits the new UK, some were quite happy to post racist stuff which was poorly moderated. The small number of people who kept returning week after week to post offensive one liners didn't help. I have at least 5 names in my ignore list that are all the same person posting the same drivel.

Why are you taking @Sapphire to task here and not @Algorfa who made the first allegation?
It wouldn't be the result of your own bias, would it?
It is very unfair to yourself blame one person when that person was responding to a confrontational post - and that is what the problem has been: posters jumping on an opportunity to blindly follow their bias just like there while the poster doing the provoking no doubt chuckles quietly at their success in getting the emotional responses they wanted.
The way this thread is heading it too will be removed if some people really are so incapable of common decency.
It's a great example of why the "thanks" button was removed too with the cliques becoming very obvious.
Instead of @Algofora saying "The forum went downhill when the right wingers took over." which is unquestionably provocative,
"The forum went downhill when the extremists took over." would have been less confrontational - as well as probably more-honest.

Can I just ask why the Hell have you brought your arguments to the Feedback thread? it is totally selfish behaviour as it will no doubt lead to this thread being closed as well, can you not go scream at each other somewhere else? I wish they would just split up the part of the Arms where we say Good Morning to each other off from DT where a few people just seem to scream and shout at each other11

Far too many do not want to debate but instead need the comfort of an echo chamber.
IMHO all threads relating to closure of parts of the forum should be closed because that is the only way the arguments will stop.3 -

Automatic nesting has nothing to do with that.
It's interesting that you chose to ignore the crux of my response which was purposely removed from what you did quote from me: "that is what the problem has been: posters jumping on an opportunity to blindly follow their bias just like there while the poster doing the provoking no doubt chuckles quietly at their success in getting the emotional responses they wanted. .... It's a great example of why the "thanks" button was removed too with the cliques becoming very obvious."
I have no desire to prolong any forum feud but many of the posts in this particular thread are a great example of just why the Arms & DT was removed.
I will leave you all to carry on with this; when MSE say the closure will be permanent perhaps those unhappy with the decision can look at threads like this and understand why it was closed.
