Money Claim Online received

Hi all. Wondering if I can get some advice on a private parking claim from Parking Control Management / Gladstones for the housing estate where I live.
I have several tickets for parking outside my garage in a courtyard type area of the rented flats where I live. This was recently changed to allow PCM to come in a ticket cars.
After getting payment demands and then then letters from a debt collectors called Trace Recovery, all of which I ignored, a Money Claim Online claim form arrived demanding £400 odd for two tickets.
The parking was changed long after the development built and after I took tenancy here with no parking restrictions. The private renting from my landlord makes no mention of parking restrictions and requirements.
In these several cases, it would have meant parking a mile away. There is no assigned parking space with the flat , only a garage which my car ( a Land Rover ) doesn't fit.
If I do go ahead with this and end up in court and fail, is the total claim on the form the total cost I am liable for , is there a reasonable cap on costs ? So far all I've done is acknowledged that claim online.

Cheers

    Have you read this

What does your lease/AST say about parking? Does it mention the need to display a permit? then it may take primacy over the self serving TnC of the scammer, and interfere with your lawful right to “quiet enjoyment” of your property, possible an offence under The Landlord and Tenants Acts.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the enacted

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Hi, the Parking Prankster link doesn't seem to work.
The claim is genuine and live now, so have to respond soon, so not too sure speaking to my MP will solve anything quickly in my case, but may well be worth doing for more long term.

So, what about when you opened a tab and just Googled the 3 key words from that faulty page:

    parking prankster residential

...as a Google search?  Works fine.  When links fail, use the words from them!

The copying and pasting of the link as been screwed up!  It includes some spurious 'anstot' extension which seems to cause the problem!  Perhaps a bit more copying and pasting practice required. 😏
