When posters are asked to be polite the message goes both ways - the 'overseers' need to use some of this politeness too 😣No; I disagree. It's their ballgame, their ball, their rules, even if they make them up as they go along. If one doesn't like the way they play then one needs to go and play elsewhere. As users of a free forum we have no entitlement.Just my opinion.1 -

Site Mods - instead of just making that thread disappear a little courtesy would be appreciated and tell the commenters (via an inbox message) that you have felt it necessary to remove it for whatever reason, do not just remove it with no notice; very bad form, a little politeness please.
Unfortunately if a thread is deleted, it would be extremely hard to inbox every commenter as that could be hundreds on some posts.Threads can be moved for a variety of reasons and its not always possible to explain them all. If there is a particular thread that has been deleted, you could email the forum team and see if they can help with why its been deleted .I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. To start with there are no mods on this site
Some threads have been running for weeks if not longer and have hundreds of contributors before they get removed.
Removal of threads has been going on for years, just scroll down this board and check out how many times it has been asked "Why was ******* removed" and how many times it was answered by MSE.
I am not defending MSE, I don't like it when a thread that I have contributed to is removed but that is the way of live forums.Other forums I've been on move threads into an oubliette, so you can see that it's moved but can't view the thread.Currently you can be contributing to a thread, go for a coffee and then can't find it again. If you left it a few days you'd never be sure if it was gone or you just couldn't find it.0 -
