    Enjoy your walk CLF :)
Did mine at 5.30 am (not 20 miles though, more like 2) with OH and mutt.
Like the sound of your steak and mushroom pudding / pie Purps - I have lots of suet in the cupboard for some reason, so may think about something similar. Do you bake it or steam it? I always used to steam, but haven't done suet crust for years. Prefer the thought of baking as it isn't such a faff. Must google.
Anyway, I have been baking today - a loaf, a(nother) strawberry pie as there were a number of imperfect strawberries due to the weather, a Victoria sandwich cake and some biscuit things with the leftover pastry scraps, made by rolling it out, dotting butter, sprinkling sugar, scattering raisins, folding, rolling and baking. My adult kids will still fight over these, if more than one of them is present when there are some around :D
I have also done a load of washing, but it looks very grey and unsettled outside. May wait a bit and see what happens before pegging it out.
    Other things:
Reused baking paper previously used when blind baking a quiche shell to line cake tins
Must check banks and update spreadsheet
Pick some rhubarb - may make it into crumbles and freeze those rather than just freezing the rhubarb
    Lunch will be leftover quiche
Dinner will be pasta Bolognese (sauce already made, from freezer)
And probably not much else - I want to finish my book!
Just remembered, Thompson and Morgan have a sale on, all seeds £1 per packet. I decided to restock as I used most of mine this year, or passed them on to family who couldn't get any. Almost all of them were from previous years, so needed using anyway. A good saving, and who knows how easy they will be to get next year??

Hi All am a bit on off as am spending too much time on a screen, walks sounds great. I wen for a ladies dog walk this morning, which was very nice and followed by my first takeout tea for a long time. And we found a very long bench to sit on.
When I came back I made french toast w bread and bagels from freezer that was was left open earlier in the week overnight (murder). Cinnamon raisin bagels are surprisingly yummy for french toast, satisfying for a sweet toth.
I think I can empty and clean one more drawer in the freezer today, and then it's just one more to go.
I did some shopping yesterday, but it's end of the month shopping so just the bare necessities.
I don't feel particularly productive today - I think I will just finish projects I have started in the week:
    vacuum downstairs
    weed front
check on pots in garden and tidy a bit
empty two more work files messing up my floor and start course files for next year
cook dinner from freezer - more veggie brugers, probably won't buy more for a while now
put up some posters and frame a picture I have meant to frame for over a month, I found the drawings in a book
    take a nap
go for an other walk/short run/bike ride late afternoon
And I'm quietly celebrating 7 lb lost since March, my spreadsheet and writing down food intake is working, even if very embarrassing sometimes. Thats 30 % gone of the approx 2 stone I'm trying to shift.
    Have a lovely afternoon.

I remember playing amongst the stones at Stonehenge when I was a child. Can't do that now, as they have fenced it off and built a huge, ugly visitor centre with a busy road, lots of coaches etc. Very much more controlled. As a result, we haven't been for years, and are unlikely to go again, even though we live not too far away. I would recommend the standing stones at Avebury instead if anyone wants to visit ancient monuments in Wiltshire. A nice walk around the stones (there are loads), great for children and dogs, no charge, and there is a nice pub (in normal times) nearby, too :)
Anyway, it was raining a bit when I got up, but I managed to persuade the dog to go for a short walk. Then had home grown strawberries with my cereal for breakfast :)  Not sure of today's plans.... must think of something for dinner. Meal planning fail, but it will be something we already have. I also need to sort the fridge out a bit, as there are things in there that need using up. Certainly some filo pastry which can become a spinach and feta pie (I can never spell the Greek name) as I have spinach in the freezer, and some yogurt that can become flatbreads. Probably things lurking in the veg drawer that need doing something with as well.
Also need to do some cleaning, and pick any veg and fruit that are ready. It is supposed to dry up after this morning's rain, and get hot by the middle of the week. Too wet for gardening today, as we have had a lot of rain over the last week or so, but over the next few days I need to get the rest of the early potatoes in the raised bed dug up (I will still have some in big pots), and the resulting bare patch sowed with carrots and beetroot. I also need to sow more perpetual spinach and chard for greens during the winter, and take some rosemary and lavender cuttings :)
