 I've offered our very old small desk to a friend who can make use of it for her kids during homeschooling after she mentioned in passing that she was desperate for ikea to reopen here.   Even if she just has it as a temporary measure it means I don't need to move everything around in the garage to get it to fit just yet!
 did an online yoga session with ds2 which had been set as his gym lesson by school :)
 sorted out lots of cupboards and moved things around a bit as we now have more food in the cupboards in case of illness!
 discovered a 2nd leak in the conservatory room :( was a 3rd but thing I've solved the 3rd at least! The rain is horrendous here but I've enjoyed the chance to have a potter around indoors.
I've gone all sleepy now that I've sat down to type this!  Oh dear,  better get moving and get tea on then I'll be able to have a nice hot bath and relax in front of the tv later.

    Take care all.

Hi hope everybody is having a pouring week! Am waiting for it to clear up so I an socialise a bit again! It's been a bit of a spendy month as a few problems just needed hitting on the head with a new object, a bed, a battery charger, some pants for the young one, and a new sports bra to keep up my free running.
Any how yesterday morning we came down to a -4 freezer with the door open. What a drag - so I am now emptying it - it's mostly bread and vege so I think it will be fine for the next week or so. So I'm emptying and washing and defrosting the drawers and will start refilling from next week. But what a faf. Fortunately the very old fridge freezer did not breakdown. Fingers crossed.
Tomorrow morning will be a big french toast fest to use up old bread, have a lovely weekend!

    Morning all :)
It is raining now, but wasn't doing so at 5.15 am (thank goodness!) when we took the dog out for a decent walk. Hoping it clears up later as it is very gloomy and the garden has had a good drink now! So far today I have:
Sorted out the TV which had decided it didn't want to be connected to the internet any more :#
    Kitchen and bathroom clean up
Washed out a freezer bag that had just been used for vegetables, and pegged it on the line to (hopefully) dry, ready for reuse
Used a charity bag that came through the door, despite the polite little sign on there requesting no junk mail etc, as a free bin bag.
Adjusted milk order online as we will have quite a bit left when the milkman is due
Bit of freezer tetris to get in some stuff that arrived with the shopping delivery yesterday evening
    Still to do:
    Check banks and update spreadsheet
Tidying and putting stuff away, dusting etc
Pick berries and mangetout if only it dries up a bit (dont want to pick soggy berries, they go off too quickly). We have strawberries to eat now and (sour) loganberries which can become jam when I get enough of them. They can reside in the freezer till I am ready. Raspberries are autumn ones and so not ready yet.
    Triage fridge, no waste here.
    Lunch will be a sandwich
Dinner will be quiche. I have the shell made, now need to fill and rebake it.
Get something out of the freezer to make into a pie with a bit of pastry lurking in the fridge left over from when I made the quiche shell.

    Morning all!

Sorry for being AWOL all week. I'm hoping to get on a couple of times mid week once my routine settles in. Although the work days are the least interesting in terms of MSEness and variation..
We've had a bit of a mare here chez Fanta. We had a torrential downpour and storm on Tuesday which either caused, revealed or worsened a hole in the roof. Either way, when I came home on Wednesday, a 4 foot section of the wall in the spare room and the dining room below it is soaked. I was hoping that it was just the sheer power of the rain forcing up under the slates, but we had constant rain yesterday and it's worse :weary:
The LA have been informed and I was expecting a call from a contractor to look at it yesterday but nothing so I have emailed again today just to ask if maybe they had tried to call but couldn't get through. I'm feeling a bit despondent because it's now chucking it down again :worried:
In other MSE things, I had a long call with my pensions chap today and he's sorting transferring my old company pension to something that will hopefully perform a bit better. We are also in the process of closing our universal credit claim as it's not looking like we'll need it thankfully. I'm also keeping an eye on my emails as I'm expecting one from HMRC about my statutory notice pay as it's now been 11 weeks since I was made redundant.

    Other listy type things:
    :cookie: B/L/D from stores
:cookie: OH doing a bit of teaching - done
:cookie: Try not to obsessively look at damp patch on wall. Thank goodness it's supposed to come drier and sunny soon. - wall is VERY wet :(
    :cookie: Tidy round - done
:cookie: Wash on but will have to dry inside. Might stick it in damp room cos dehumidifier is in there anyway - done
:cookie: Was going to treat myself to the DIY shop but don't have the heart now - went and wished I hadn't. Glasses fogged up by my mask, no one distancing properly.
:cookie: Planning to do a leg day workout but heart not really in it.
:cookie: Think of something nice to do to take my mind off water ingress - still trying :(

    Have a good one all

    CLF - hope you’re ok

quiet day here, so not achieved much. However, a few things:

used some soup bags I found whilst having a lockdown sort out for some fridge soup I made yesterday whilst triaging fridge
used some steam bags (also found during lockdown sort out) to freeze some chopped spring greens (thanks for the tip dawn)
used last half a jar of mincemeat lurking in fridge and some puff pastry to make a tart. Chopped a strip of pastry in to triangles to dot on the top to use less pastry but stop mincemeat burning.
Will make some hm fajita spice shortly for tonight’s tea. So much cheaper than buying those shop bought sachets. Will make a bigger batch than recipe so some for next time.
Payday 😃 haven’t done money shuffle yet, will do tonight or tomorrow
e mailed landlord next door about a possible solution to their broken fence
food delivery due tonight. Update meal plan after delivery if some items are not available

Enjoy the rest of your day. Purps.

Of course. This is the one I use. Cornstarch is just cornflour. I didn't have any onion granules so just left them out and it's still yummy.

Morning folks. Wow, what a difference a day makes! The sun is beaming through the windows this morning. Glad I put a load of washing on overnight, have put another on and will peg out. Other things today:

prep some strawberries for jam making tomorrow
make some biscuits or a cake
make a steak and mushroom filing for a suet pudding for tomorrow
    make sausage rolls
after that - something easy off meal planner for tea 😊
Continue cleaning a particular room to get it sorted
plant some stuff out (must do this, they’re growing rapidly!)
    Stake some tomatoes
try and get some housework done
knitting later hopefully in front of a tv series.

Have a good day all. Purps.
