What small DFW things will you do w/c 15th June?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Morning folks. It's another week, hope all are well. If you're reading or the first time or just regularly read along, do post and join us. The more the merrier - and we're a super friendly bunch. Big waves to any regulars not posting at the moment - hope all is well during these strange times we are in.My list for today:
check banks, update YN AB - done over first coffee.Peg washing out done overnight
make a bread roll batch of dough and bake
print off school work
more jigsaw - forgotten how relaxing they are and it's good to not be scrolling on t'interweb
not be tempted by lots of clearance and sales that seem to be popping up now shops are reopening trying to shift some stock. Will actively unsubscribe from some that I don't use
triage fridge
some sewing/knitting
try and plan when I can do some sewing on my machine - need some time when I won't be distractedHave a good day all. Purps.8 -
Morning!
Many thanks for starting us off Purps.
I was naughty yesterday. I was itching to do a particular piece of paperwork and ended up blasting out alot.
DD said that everything paperwork wise should be banned from me at a weekend as if i have an itch to do it, i'm off and just keep going as at that point im really stuck into it and jumping onto extra things which isn't really healthy for me as i don't look after me then! Eerrmmm that went abit wrong. Did some
Apart from a hour webinar i am def NOT doing paperwork today and having a day off Got it wrong its Wednesday!
-really need to sort washing out. It was showers on/ off yesterday. Really want to get this excess dirty bedding sorted. Nice day weather wise aswell today so will crack on with that.It keeps raining! Not doing well
-DD cooked dinner last night. Need to pop to sm this morning for a couple of fresh bits we've run out of Done
-still need to paint wall Not done
-update spends book Done
-banking all checked
-just about to start cat cleaning.Done

Thanks for starting us off Purps
Glad to hear you are having a day off HK!No rain here yet today, but some is forecast. Surprising how quickly everything has dried out after the last lot though - I have just watered the containers in the back garden plus a few other things, and picked and fed the strawberries. Speaking of strawberries, a neighbour gifted me about 2kg of the pale, fairly tasteless ones that he grows in his garden and doesn't use, so I have been jam making. I thought it had set ok (don't often get a good set with strawberry as I never use commercial pectin etc) but it is too sloppy, so I will tip it back into the preserving pan in a minute and reboil it. I will give the neighbour a jar, as he likes the jam even if he doesn't think much of the strawberries. Other than that:Early morning dog walk, 5.30 am this morningDD popped round this morning for a cuppa in the garden. Little GS sat on a rug and played with his toys, mostly.Dog has been for a haircut, and no longer looks like a small yeti. I wasn't too concerned about taking him, as the lady works alone in a little outbuilding in her garden in a nearby village, and it was just a matter of dropping him off and picking him up again once done, all in the open air, and lots of space to keep 2m apart. Poked my nose into the shop where my sales unit is located, to check stock levels. Again, my bit is at the back of the shop, and I could just go in the back door once I made sure there were no customers at that end. Took less than 5 minutes. I will need to take some items down tomorrow, but will do it early before anyone else is in there. I will also need to drop a couple of parcels off at the post office (literally, I use a pre paid Drop and Go account for my business). Must remember to print out the paperwork in good time in case the printer plays up (not a rare occurrence, printers after all have very small brains!) No other visits to shops, or anywhere else, planned though. Also picked a bowl of loganberries which will go in the freezer until I can be bothered to make them into jam.OH dug more potatoesRight, I had better go and reboil this jam, and look for some bits and pieces to take to my sales unit tomorrow.5 -
Thanks PF for this weeks thread.
I'm jealous of all the rain you seem to be having!!
Today I've..
checked banking, updated spreadsheet and checked off the credit card statement.
leftover chicken curry for tea
sewn up a little hole that had started on my cardigan
washed 3 loads and hung on the line to dry
2 long walks in the sunshine and an exercise dvd done, I don't think I'll be rejoining the gym after all this is over.
triaged the fridge and updated the shopping list
I'm sure there was lots more in the way of small things but I'm too tired now to think!
Take care one and all.

Morning all, I woke up thinking it was Sunday only to discover it is, in fact, Tuesday, now I feel discombobulated.
Whilst clearing out a cupboard last week I came across some vintage sachet if yeast, I have no idea where they came from, I can't remember the last time we used a sachet, for years we have been bulk buying Doves Farm 125g orange packet and we are planning on changing to Saf Levure, as we can buy a bigger quantity cheaper.

Morning all
Early morning dog walk done, had breakfast, put away the jam I made yesterday, revised the shopping order that is due to be delivered tomorrow, printed out paperwork for a parcel to be dropped off at the post office, and sorted out some items to take to my sales unit. I have even priced up some of them. Must do the rest so that I can just quickly put them in place at the shop. I normally would do them in situ while nattering but obviously can't hang around chatting at the moment
OH is cleaning our elderly camper van ready for its MOT test tomorrow.Other things I need to do:Freeze the loganberries I picked yesterday for jam when there is enough (and I can be bothered)Possibly a load of washing, will see if there is enough to make up a loadClean the bathroomPull out rest of broad beans, clear patch of ground and plant out leeks in their place (assuming it doesn't rain of course)Water anything that needs it (leek seedlings will!)Lunch will be fridge bits, I fancy a cheese and lettuce sandwich! Shouldn't be thinking about lunch at 9am of course...Dinner will be fish baked on ratatouille with new potatoes from the garden and the rest of the broad beans.Hope everyone has a nice day

Hello all,
I didn't sleep much at all last night and have felt rubbish all day
Often happens with me though were I have a week or so of really disrupted sleep and then things settle down. Although I don't normally then have Dh & the kids at home at the same time! Coffee and paracetamol were very much needed this morning.
Anyway in the way of small things
* banking checked and spreadsheet updated
* my dad picked me up a £1.50 veg box from lidl whilst he was there, 3 bags of spring greens in there so will need to tweak the meal plans in order to use them up.
* update shopping click and collect order for tomorrow based on the items in the veg box
Thats about it for now, take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
