Well I didn't see that coming when I got up this morning: I've bought a new to me car. Pip is going to the great scrapyard in the sky after 15 years faithful service.
I'm not sure which way is up at the moment. When I say I've bought a new to me car I mean that it is now sat on my drive- taxed and tested and as from 7pm insured.
I think I'm in shock.

Jazee - hope the dogs are okay! 😔
It was my first day back at work for a week and it's been chaos! 🙈 I managed to get a wash done, dried and put away, a s&s round the kitchen and bathroom and a quick hoover everywhere. The kids are currently cooking dinner so I shall do the kitchen list once they have finished and then it's an early night for me!
Kaz- you must be exhausted!! That's a lot of soil to move!
Valli - I admire your resolve with the couch grass, it is the stuff of nightmares - along with bindweed 🙈- I was plagued with both but thankfully got gardeners in to sort that area - otherwise I think I'd have ended up just setting fire to the garden! 😂 (is it too early to confess my pyromaniac tendencies?!)
Round - impressive achievements! 😊 I'm slightly jealous of your energy! 😉
I'm still trying to work out how to get back to page one to mention people by name without losing everything I've already typed so apologies to those I've missed out- everyone is doing great!! 😊10 -
squirrelgirl - I think I'm tidal as my energy ebbs and flows from day to day. Some days are read a book day and other days there's no stopping me - and I have no idea when I wake up what sort of day it will be. I've (more or less) learned to go with the flow.
I cooked tea then went for a ride out in the new to me car - so I know where everything is before I drive to work in the morning. Hope WAC has no members tonight - but I'm so wired I wouldn't be surprised if I'm awake half the night.
GWS vibes being sent to Jazee's dogs xx

Good evening!
I didn't get everything on my list done - but I did get to the allotment for 2 hours. More weeding done, and 3 pumpkins planted.
LR has been tidied, dusted & vac'd and the coffee table has been cleared. DS has removed his stuff, before the arrival of the feral 2 year old tomorrow! To be fair, the plan is to spend most of the time outside, as that is what has been recommended, and he will be happy with that. I hope his mum isn't expecting him home clean!!
I have also done some more of my accounts - nearly done! (I am usually still doing them over the Christmas break, so this is good!) and I have done a quick powerpoint about my allotment on lockdown and making no dig beds for the WI meeting on Thursday (loose garden theme this month). I am now going to set my alarm (1st time in 11 weeks!) and go to bed.
Night night everyone!

Hi all
Nearly 10 hours done at the paid stuff. Tricky Zoom meeting tonight, felt like a colleague was getting at me a bit but I will NOT let it bother me.
I did manage to dust and hoover a bit, and did my online exercise class. Oh and made mince hotpot for tea. Bedtime now.11 -

Another carrier bag has been emptied. A beyond saving pillow protector has been binned and the odd sock that was with it will be washed and put in the odd sock bag. Theory being that when all odd socks have been unearthed there will be a massive pairing session and anything left unpaired will go to the great textile recycling bin in the sky.
I've also rummaged through a tin that I found and put a dozen batteries in to the recycling - one of said batteries had lost it's innards (that's how old they are!), binned three essential oils of dubious age - I'm pretty sure they came from the flat and we've lived here since 2003. Batteries would be the same vintage; and put all the safety pins, fuses and picture hooks in to their new home - the pickling jar. I am so glad I saved that jar

Wow round, you've been on a roll! New car bought, taxed and insured all on the same day!!! Steady on, girl - hope it wasn't caused by the fumes from the empty bottles!!!
Since posting this morning I have
- washed and hung out towels and also did another load including bath mats
- cleaned ensuite, including removing mould from the rubber shower mat
- cleaned workmens' loo, including spiders webs
- made 2 phonecalls and sent 3 emails
- helped my young friend A demolish and set up the waterbutts again so that hopefully the rain will be diverted into both of them
- helped A finish grubbing out the weeds from the block paving and sweeping up the detritus
- taken Rosie for her walk
- cooked tea
- watered the garden
- FUPA DH's tee-shirts (about 10 of them) whilst watching a very interesting programme about the Harz Railway in East Germany and then catching up with Sewing Bee.
I ran out of time to deal with the seedlings but will try to do them tomorrow. Now about to fall into bed!
Hope the dogs are better tomorrow, Jazee xx
Hope you aren't too stiff tomorrow, kazw xx

Morning xx
Heigh ho heigh ho and all that.
Thank you Valli - I'll sort it into currencies and see how much it adds up too. That's DS coming back off holiday and dumping any left over currency on the first available flat surface. He won't be able to do that soon as it will be cleared - but the chances are that he'll have moved out to live with GF before he goes abroad again. I didn't bat an eyelid when he first said that was the plan, but it will be weird. (I'll just pretend he's gone back to Uni!)
ionafan - I'm still in shock. I've been looking at cars since January but to find, buy, and bring home a car in the space of an hour was somewhat surreal. And breathe xx
I wonder what joys await me at work. I'll soon find out.
Have a good day.
