  • Just a quick drop in today,
It is 3 days until payday and as sad as it sounds I am so excited to update my YNAB.  I have managed to stick to the food plan/budget this week which is great and is proving to me that it is possible.  I have also submitted my RightToBuy application this morning, I know there is quite a delay on surveys/applications at the moment so I am not expecting anything back too soon (the longer the better in my case).  In the meantime, everything is going towards the CC to reduce my debts for when it comes to mortgage application time.  I am not confident all will be a success but at least I will have a good idea of what I am expecting to pay and what status I am re mortgages.
    xx

Budget done this morning using YNAB and made all the payments I could so just my DD to clear.
I have budgeted £86 a week for food this morning, which should be plenty! Had some food left over from last week so going to do another look tonight and plan for my food shop tomorrow.
I have managed to put £62.50 away into my EF, have budgeted all my little saving pots and made my minimum payments on all my credit cards.  All the little payments have added up this month so I had already paid £95 off my highest card.  I've just made an overpayment of £120 today so all my little eBay sales, surveys and savings this month will go off the CC again as it seems to really be adding up :D
Hope everyone has a good weekend ! x

  • Hi, me again on what must be the worlds most boring diary!!
I've had a mooch through my credit report this morning  :'(  it was a little depressing if i'm honest..but I have a default due to be removed this September, and other than let time go by all I can do is the obvious, not apply for any more credit, and pay down my debt as much as possible.  I have decided to take another £120 out of my budget to pay towards CC,  I've kept the EF going but I had some money put aside for Caravan spends (sept) and After school club fee's not due yet so decided to use this to pay off a bit more as I can put it back  into my pots next payday.  Although this will only save me a little in interest it has taken 2 of my cards under 50% utilisation which feels like massive progress!!! They are only very small balances now, so part of me is tempted to get them down to £0 balances but think it would be better to just leave them at the MinPayments for now and chip off the big one!
The weather is odd here again today, really windy and looks like it will chuck it down, then doesn't, but your not confident enough in it to go out for a walk LOL.  I should really be working on my assignments now, but I didn't get to sleep until stupid O'clock (netflix binge).  I finished my meal plan, seasoned all my meat and froze etc so should be fine for that this week now im off to make some jelly with the little one's.

Prolific has been bad for me too, I’ve seen a few pop up today, but missed them all by seconds!
why is your eBay capped at 10? I’m brand new to eBaying, so learning the ropes...and slightly shocked at all the selling fees! I sold my first item and had no idea PayPal takes some and then you have to wait for the eBay bill...very odd! Also, as a new seller with no ratings they won’t release the funds until the buyer has received the item, so it means paying postage up front!
Also second that your diary is not boring...I will follow and cheer you on!

    Hi Suzanne,
thanks for dropping in it’s a lot more fun when there is someone to reply to lol :)
when you are a new seller it only lets you put ten items on a month until you have sold £165 worth of goods or a certain amount of items I think? Really frustrating when you have loads of bits and bobs to sell.

i know I think the fees are a little steep they so sometimes do a £1 max for around a week so anything high value try save for that.  I’ve also had the hold but if someone leaves you positive feedback the funds get released straight away so I dropped a few of them a message just asking would they mind leaving some feedback as I was a new seller and all but two have done :) I think I’ll have problems with one item it was around £10 they stalked me for a bit about buying it, then took a while to pay, then said they hadn’t received it, I waited around a week messaged them and had no reply but I’ve kept my proof of postage so hoping I’ll be okay ?

    Thankyou :)

Ah, thanks for the eBay advice. My first sale was a large item, so I guess that’s why I’ve not noticed them limiting my listings, but they didn’t give any feedback, so I have asked if they’d mind. The funds released as soon as they got delivery. I have listed quite a few more, but just have a few watchers so far. I sent the 2 I have sold with tracked signed delivery, one is still on the way. I will try to do that for most items where possible as I’d rather make a bit less, than have someone say they didn’t receive it. It’s a bit of a mine field.
I have a big bill this month and am trying to earn enough to cover it with sales.

Aah maybe because your sending them tracked and signed they are releasing straight away, I will bare that in mind going forward :) All of my items have been around a fiver so far so have just sent 1st with proof of postage, ebay did say that if a claim is raised to say something hasn't been received they will take the POP into consideration but its deffo worth it for the higher value items.
I received an offer for £100 for something I was selling, I've replied saying £110 which would hopefully leave me with £100 after fee's this isn't my item though so I wont see any profit like :/
