Hi all,
just a quick check in, I went ahead and cancelled the holiday so that was £130.00 spent this week, my insurance is being refunded £25.00 and I am keeping everything crossed the flights will be cancelled then hopefully I will get my flights refunded. Other than this, I have managed to make a few payments off the CC this week, refunds/surveys etc mainly but as of now I am £82ish on my 1/100..
I am doing a food shop tomorrow which I am aiming to keep under/as close to £75.00 a week if possible. Hope everyone is keeping well (if anyone is there) x

Hi,
Remember to plan your meals and shop strictly to a list. One of the best changes I ever did. But only as effective as your are strict with it.
Also think about where you shop - Aldi is cheaper than Sainsbury's and dropping brand names can save you a small fortune.
If you budget £75 and spend £70, stick the other £5 straight in EF or towards the CC.
Good luck!Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....7 -

ThankyouI ended up going shopping this morning with list and pen in hand lol. Managed to get everything on my list and one or two extras (which I’ll try keep an eye on) for £65.00 I have popped the extra tenner in a jar and then will aim for £65 next week etc then at the end of the month I’m going to pay off the CC whatever us left over
I shop at Aldi already so think that’s why I managed to stay within my budget xx

Hi all/anyone
Been a bit of a rough few days to be honest for me, me and my partner have been on quite rubbish terms so there's a bit of tensionunfortunately I had my bank details stolen on Saturday night so I was up until 2 on the phone to the bank then barely slept panicking...(was my stupid mistake on a scam email) think it was tiredness that I fell for it.
A little more positive I have managed to sell all but one of my eBay items so got them all posted at the weekend, I am waiting until all the fee's etc are deducted before I work out what I have made and I also have a hold on my PayPal payments until there confirmed as received (I am not really sure why but think it may be because I'm a first time seller).
I bought a few things to put away for xmas for ds2 so feel like I have made a good start and switched my EDF tariff as per Martins recommendation last week so I should be getting £25 cash/back for that tooOther than that me and ds2 made cookies last night which was nice and I haven't done anywhere near as much as I should in terms of my uni work, work is really busy this week so not much hope for getting any done then and I have started knitting a scarf LOL (burying my head in the sand I think).
I managed (am managing) to stick to my £75.00 food budget and have also stuck to the meal plan too which is a win for me, we should have plenty in by Saturday so I think next week should come in under budget which will be nice
I hope everyone is keeping well x

Well done on keeping to the food budget this week and selling all the ebay stuff. Every little extra helps.
Sorry about the scam email and tension with your partner. Not what you need really but hopefully it will blow over. I had a scam text this morning from my mobile phone network provider (or claiming to be them). Luckily I just deleted it. If they email or text me anything with a link to another site I just ignore it and go to the website to see if there is a problem with bills or whatever as the scam claimed. There have been a lot more of these scams since lockdown I think.

There have been a lot more of these scams since lockdown I think.it was an email for tv license which I wouldn’t usually have fallen for but I had genuinely had an issue with the dd the week before. Luckily I realised straight away and blocked my card but they had tried to use it 9 times in four minutes! (**********’s!!)

Although it must be daunting to have to build your emergency fund up again - it is great that you have been able to cover this without adding to debt at all. I think having a small emergency fund it key for me as I do not want to see my debt total creep up! Good luck on your journey! I will bookmark your diary and follow along.LBM November 2019

I am someone who has never really ever had savings anyway so I am not panicking too much but yes I am glad I haven't had to stick it all on the CC and undo all the hard work! Thankyou

Bit more positive today, on the 7th July i can cancel my phone contract then I have seen a £9 a month deal on virgin so will go to that (Save about 35£ a month!
)
I have done quite a few surveys this morning, prolific seem to be really quick at approving atm and I am almost at £5 again, my ebay sales have started being approved so £14 to the CC last night and I have two more parcels to send off today.
Can't wait for the weekend, have managed to stick to the food budge/plan all week which is a bloody 1st for me and will be doing my shop again tomorrow so I am going to really try keep it down. I had a look at the YNAB last night and could see myself becoming hooked lol, in other news i have had a meeting cancelled today which I was dreading so today seems to be looking up !!Pennies starts again...........2022 - £13,579.224
