Today has been a lot more productive!!
I completed three well paid surveys on Prolific in-between emails today so have £5.25 pending at the moment, I am going to make a real effort in 2021 to note how much I have gained from these, quidco and surveys etc as it does add up!
Took the car into the garage where they changed the battery so hopefully no more problems moving forward, as this is a pool car work pay for it but should have been £80 so glad I wasn't footing the bill.
I have spoken to Virgin as I am out of contract 1st Jan and have managed to renew on the same package £35 p/m with my £3 credit being applied. This means I will be paying £32 p/m in comparison to the £38 I pay atm, I know its only five pounds a month but rather my pocket than there's! They have also credited the Anthony Joshua fight we purchased due to poor service after checking nobody responded to my initial complaint and there being a log of disruption that day in our area which is good news!! This means i have a bill of £48 this month, but in January will need to pay approx. £17 as they will have worked out the credit from my renewing (if that makes any sense, I am not really sure anyone is out there sometimes anyway lol).
I am doing a Click and collect to be picked up thursday depending on when I can get a slot which will come out of my account on the 24th (payday!!) I have £100 budgeting in there so far atm, however I spent £23 yesterday on treats so don't really need much of those!
I have WFH today, which is both a blessing and a curse when the kids are at home, everything is finalised for payroll which is good but I have a lot to catch up on before I break for christmas (xmas eve), tomorrow is my day off, the boys are booked into football camp 1-3 which is when I intend to get any last minute jobs done, other than that we will be working on getting into the festive spirit, as it's lacking atm!Pennies starts again...........2022 - £13,579.223 -
Payday has been and gone, everything allocated on YNAB and I've overpaid one of my credit cards by approx £70.00. I have takeaway budgeted for Xmas eve treat and a shop due on click and collect budget for the 27th, I've put extras In the budgets for those so anything left over will go on 5h3 card at the end of the week. I have budgeted £200 to allow £50 a week that I will try and stick to through Jan, anything left over will go on the CC. Now home from work and not due back until the 4th, tidying and cleaning now for an hour or so and have approx 5 presents left to wrap when the kids have gone to bed.
Have a lovely Christmas everyone xPennies starts again...........2022 - £13,579.223 -
Morning all,
Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas however they decided to spend itthe money front has been quite good we bought a pan set in the sale for 32.50 but we had been looking for one for awhile. I have £32 left of this week's weekly spends but have budgeted £100 to cover any Xmas spends if we go anywhere, very unlikely! I will update all my totals when back on my SS x

Morning all,
Been a good few days in the pennies household. Yesterday I popped into town and returned a gift to next, bought ds2 a pair of gloves, a t shirt for his birthday and some cards with the voucher. Found oh nephew a Thomas trainset for £10 and it looks really impressive so he transferred me the money across so no actual spendingWe had snow yesterday, so went out for a nice walk with the boys and I made a Chinese fakeaway for tea, I'm still in holiday eating mode but going to try be a bit more mindful of what I'm eating as I've put 6lb back on in the last few weeks.
We are heading to Yorkshire Wildlife park today with theboys, tickets cost £65 So that came out of the Xmas spend I had put aside and I've just made a picnic to take with us and put a curry in the slow cooker for tea when we're home. Hope everyone enjoys their day x

Morning All,
Had a quick update of the SS today and debt now stands at £5956.40, Heading into 2021 under £6KI have joined the Pay off your debt by Xmas 2021 and hoping that will really give me a boost with paying this down. I have made just over £400 in payments this month and still have a little bit more due to clear, had a YNAB blipp and budgeted £150 into Jan by mistake which I have paid £50 off my CC added £50 to the grocery budget and have left the other £50 to cover one of my weekly spends pots! Have a good day all, weather looks sunny here but their is ice all on the ground and still very cold. We had an amazing day at YWP yesterday, the boys saw all the animals they wanted to see and apart from the £10 spent on hot drinks (it was freezing) was a zero spend day!

Hi all,
I've felt very productive today, all the Christmas decorations down and a good clean with a trip to the tip. I have sold a pair of ds2 trainers on ebay so packed those up and have listed another 8 items so hopefully I'll get some interest. Decided not to go back to SW this morning and I'm going to pay the 5 a week off my Cc and weigh at home.
Click and collect tonight at 6pm, the snow has been on and off all day so hoping it doesn't start again before I'm back with it., spent £88 which is more than usual but have meal planned for the week and bought a lunch bag and bottle for work so hopefully will have left overs and save some pennies.
If anyone is out there lol xPennies starts again...........2022 - £13,579.223 -
You could actually pay off an extra £1 a week @lookingafterthepennies because it's going up to £5.95 a week! That would be just over £50 over the year, not to be sneezed at!
Have you got a food flask so you can take leftovers to work or lock 'n' lock boxes if you've got access to a microwave. I always used to take my lunch to work with me and quite often it would be leftovers which I could just microwave.
Another lunch I used to take was a jacket potato and some beans in a pot and then I'd cook the potato and reheat the beans and have that. Was just glad to have access to a microwave that was regularly cleaned!
