  • Thank you @DancingInTheRain & @DayDreamerandGeneralWaster !!

It feels good to be back, now I am back to being a bit more mindful with what the hell I am spending/earning etc I think I have quite missed it !!  :D
Today has been a little spendy, but sensible spending as I popped to HB from work and bought the cat food (6£) I also spent £8.53 on something for dinner, some Winter spice zaflora (House is smelling like christmas already <3) and some low syn treats! So £14.53 in total.  My lotto payment went out (£4) which I will quit at some point, its sods law with the year I have had that as soon as I do we will win, so may wait until the new year to kick this one.  I did find an extra fuel receipt yesterday I thought was lost, so they were both paid into my my account today (£40.00).....I paid an upcoming payment straight off for £27.35 (I am back YNAB'ing too) so at least that's something else off the CC at the end of the month!

I now have £21.70 for the week, I don't have much planned so hopefully that will last me x

Sorry for the late reply @Sarahwithlove !! Yes I didn't find out about the free year until late on so I have it free for about 8 month's still now :) I will pay for it once I am finished though as it makes a massive difference to my spending when I stick with it :)

I have just gone through this morning and reconciled all my YNAB from pay day, added some pots and taken some off as I find  I don't do it out and about on the phone, so hopefully I will now :)

  • Hi All,
Hope everyone is well :) It has been a lovely weekend(or so) for me, it was my partners birthday on Friday, we both took the day off work and went for a 5 mile walk up in the moors, was a lovely day for it and on the cheap which helped :) It was a slightly spendy weekend though as we got a takeaway/cake/balloons etc but it was his 30th so a special one.
I went through my Barclays app last night, we have spent over £1000 on takeaways this year, so that is something I will be trimming back (drastically) next year, to be honest a lot of them were budgeted for, but it could have been a holiday!!
Speaking of holidays...I have booked a yoga retreat in May next year, its £440 and I managed to get flights for £50 return, it is something I can really look forward to, but isn't massively out of budget. Me and my family do a £50 syndicate each month where one person takes home £200 so between now and then I will have had it twice, which will pay for the trip!

Sorry for the long post, this is what happens when you stop checking in!! I have £58.47 left in my YNAB, but I do have plenty budgeted which would otherwise be spendy ..£100 budgeted for this week's food shop, have just paid DS2 school dinners, and have £25 for SIL birthday present (OH will be transferring me half back) which is Wednesday.  I have quite a lot budgeted for in the YNAB like kids Muay Thai and football which start again Wednesday and my Gym payment etc so hoping not to be too spendy.  WFH today so a spend free day, going to take a quick walk soon to stretch my legs, other than that not much planned for this week apart from Wednesday I need to take a Jacket back for a refund :)

  • Glad you getting on ok with YNAB and that you have paid for Christmas without using credit. Yoga retreat sounds nice and relaxing.  We have a holiday booked for Canada next year which was rearranged from this year so hope we can go this time.

    Hi @enthusiasticsaver,
I am already on with the wrapping for this xmas :) Really trying to look forward to it this year, no decorations up yet though as we are re-decorating the living room at the moment so that will be a job for the weekend :)
Oh brilliant, we were supposed to be attending a wedding this year in Canada which was cancelled due to Covid, thankfully we hadn't actually booked anything, but did lose £600 on flights to spain :(

  • Morning all,
Feeling really motivated today, I listened to the dave Ramsey audio book last night and paid £19.00ish off my Cc lol. I've done my weekly shop for click and collect yesterday which was £78.00... I had some bits last week I need refunding too so I chased those up it was about £3 I felt so tight doing it lol but thought no they wouldn't let me leave the shop with them so I want my money back lol.
My day off today and the boys have got virtual Xmas shows Thursday and Friday so I'm popping into town today to get ds2 a jumper (ds1 has one) and have a jacket to take back for a refund too. Not looking forward to it tbh but hopefully I'm going early so won't be too busy!
Hope every one has a great day x

Xmas for the kids will be different this year. I was sent a link to a virtual showing of my GD1s first nativity in a week or so. Glad you are feeling motivated and hope your boys shows go ok.

    Hi All,
Had a bit of a spendy day on Tuesday, £80.00 in town, however it was all budgeted for (minus about £5.00) which was really nice, as I knew I wasn't spending money I didn't have but still got to pick some extra bits for xmas/the boys etc.  Just had a little tot up with my YNAB/bank etc and managed to make a tiny overpayment on my lowest CC - Just £97.06 to go before this is cleared - So I deffo want this gone by Xmas! :#

I had a little tot up of what I am owed back ATM and it's £39 in refunds and £134.73 from family/friends :/ which I need to get to grips with.  I paid a deposit which I am awaiting £40ish back from one friend, £30ish from my sister for her half of 2 Xmas presents and £60 I lent SIL until next week.  I have enough in my budgets so was in the position to do this, but at the same time its more than my lowest CC so I really need to learn to be a bit tighter/say no :/ anyone else have this problem?  x

    Morning all,
Ds2 is back at football this morning so £20 paid for that (budgeted) also spent £3 on drinks whilst we were there, going to being bottles of juice next time and I'll go without. Have dug a few things out to be placed on ebay today and I'm having a massive clean of the the house ready for the Xmas Dec's tomorrow so will probably find some more items there. We are drowning in clothes again so mainly will be those I think. Not planning on leaving the house so no spends tomorrow planned and I'm going to get beef casserole in the slow cooker soon.

Update: Listed some of ds2 trainers on eBay so will see how they sell, cleaned almost the whole house (bedroom's to go) Had some chicken that needed cooking so making curry for tea tonight and we are having stew tomorrow.  Also some mince that needs eating so going to make a chilli and stick it in the freezer for mid-week!  Planned the meals for the week and have a click and collect tomorrow at Mr.A - £42.55 - If i don't top-up that's a miracle for us, but I do have quite a bit of meat in already.  - Planning on going for a swim tomorow and then a trip to the Tip in the afternoon, Rock & Roll so hopefully no spending involved.  I then have £60.00 on Monday for my weekly budget! x

have a good weekend all x
