Are Hargreaves Lansdown now requiring a code from a text message to login?

Last couple of times I've logged in they've sent me a text with a code to be entered as the final step.
Is this a new feature?
TIA

Yes, but only if you have an active savings account.

They've had this for a couple of months now. You should have had emails about it.

I opened my active savings account with them on Thursday, so that make sense then, thanks. Guess I'll have to get used to it. It's probably not a bad thing, apart perhaps from the 5 minute inactive timeout which could be very annoying.

I found the 5 minute inactivey timeout very annoying. I use FireFox so I installed the Tab Auto Refresh Moziila extension. It's handy for a few other sites as well, such as MSE
Not sure if it's the same for Active Savings as it is on my SIPP account, but under Account Settings tab at top, on the left hand side under Password and timeout preferences you can adjust the timeout setting

Not if you have an Active Savings account. Mine was 1 hour but it's now disabled

Does anyone know what the government regulations are that force logout after 5 minutes of inactivity if you hold a savings account?
