  • Morning Guys!

Had a rough night and went back to sleep on the sofa at 3am:rolleyes: ...still not feeling good but will be in all day, so can rest up.

Caught up with washing but DW will need to go on later. Toilet has been cleaned:D

Managed to sort out a cupboard that has needed doing for a while. OH & I got rid of alot of our [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] treasures. A bag for the charity shop tomorrow.

We have a leg of lamb (OH got reduced yesterday)for dinner later and will also do Yorkies, Roasties, New Pots, Parsnip, swede/carrot mash and peas.

DD is tidying her room and doing her Latin revision this morning, but think we will all watch a film later together.....maybe The Grinch....I love that film!

    Anyway, hugs to all.

  • Good morning all, I am having a quiet day at home today after my "out all day" yesterday. Yesterday afternoon I went to a Christmas fete and couldn't believe my luck when I won a lovely xmas table centrepiece decoration ( I never win anything)!

Today I hope to get some washing out and I am also going to work out a new budget and figures to put on MFW board. I would like to start wrapping xmas presents but it will depend whether any of the kids drop in.

Snowy/Catowen, my problem is I get too many cards - from people I never see or am not very friendly with. I think (if I am brave enough) I will put a note in with cards this year saying that I am stopping sending cards after this year. I have thought of doing this twice in the past but always felt to bad to do it ! Maybe this year.

Today for dinner I will have left over Kung Po Chicken from last night and lemon meringue pie.

Hope everybody has a lovely Sunday.

    morning all,

We had a great day in London yesterday, very cold but bright, the river criuse was fantastic, and the london eye was amazing, I am very scared of heights, but was determined to do it, and I was very scared (as was DD) but it was so worth it, saw so many landmarks, there was a civil ceremony in one of the pods as we got on, two ladies tying the knot, they and there friends had champagne and flowers it looked lovely, went to harrods, which was pretty, but a complete nightmare, soooo busy, they were putting fake snow out of the windows, and Brompton Road was full of it. Hard rock cafe was amazing and well worth a visit, so a fab day was had.

Its my OH's birthday today, , we were going walking for the day, but its pouring, so will have to change plans.

Another bit of news  , I got up in the middle of the night to go to the loo, tripped over one of my shoes, fell over onto our metal bedsted, and have now got a smashing shinner, fat lip and very swollen painfull knee!!! looks like i have been beaten up. i have got to go into hospital on Tuesday, lets hope its gone by then.

have not read yesterdays thread yet, but kyle, my OH is learning to drive at the moment, he is 35 and is loving every moment of it, so go for it xx

Hugs to all will be popping back xx
  • morning all,

    Happy Birthday to redruby's OH!
another wet and windy night here so I'm up early today. Still, I have changed my bedding and the dirty stuff is now in the WM. I've also sorted out what I have bought for DS and DD and will wrap that later. I ordered DS's mobile phone yesterday so I have now officially done all of my Christmas present shopping. :j :j

Spoke to my mum yesterday so the plans are now in place for Christmas. DS, DD and I will drive up to Scotland on 23rd and spend Christmas with my parents. I will be cooking Christmas dinner for them for the first time since 1991. Really looking forward to that. Then, on Boxing Day all of my family (about 23 of us) will be going to the Church hall for dinner. The church organise this every year and it is a big hit.

((((hugs)))) to all who have woes of whatever kind.

kyle I wanted to achieve something for my 30th birthday. So, I took driving lessons. Passed first time then didn't drive again until XDH and I split up. He refused to be a passenger and didn't encourage me to drive the car (I was quite a nervous driver tbh). Still, I have my car now and couldn't be without it. It gives me so much freedom and I don't have to rely on anyone else. Hope you decide to go for it.

Going to browse for beds now as DS has somehow managed to break the base of his. Cleaned his room (to a degree anyway) yesterday and couldn't believe the stuff I was finding that I thought was lost forever. I'm planning to decorate it after Christmas so the first step has been taken.

    Have a super Sunday. xx

    Morning all

well the coffee and brandy last night was a double edged sword. Went to bed like good girl but got up again after half an hour with caffeine and deep thoughts playing havoc with my system. went down to make muffins until the brandy started doing its stuff so have had to get up to baking mess - ah well.

dd is on packed lunches from monday. The school dinners started out well but there have been some problems in the last few weeks. They have either forgotten to order her veggie meal or the other kids have fancied something veggie and as her class is the last to go in she has ended up with the dregs of what she can eat - sometimes just potatoes and beans. Shame she took so long to tell me about it. Now she is having a paddy cos I won't put crisps and choccies in her lunch box. I have told her that she may buy those things herself if she wants them - i hope the muffins cheer her up a bit.

plans today are just the usual knitting and flying and then will pick up dd11 from her older sister - we will probably watch a film together

    have a good day
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Good morning all!

Yep it's overcast and raining here, but not too heavily at the moment. Wipe that grin off your face Aussie:p :rotfl:

Redruby, ouch!!!!! Hope it gets better soon, and Happy Birthday to your DH. Glad you enjoyed your London day out. Hope you were up in the Eye while we had that gloriously sunny morning, it turned very grey later.

Today I'm determined we're having the roast at lunchtime, then I can clear up and have the rest of the day to myself;) So I now need to fly round at 100 miles an hour to get the veggies prepared before I head off to Church in...... um 10 minutes:rotfl:

    Must rush, back later,

    CM x

Hugs to Redruby, we missed you SOMO1, glad to see you got a Christmas avatar PP, I'm changing mine soon.
The lodger told me yesterday that she's realised all english people eat a lot of potatoes!!! It's only taken 4 months for it to dawn on her.
She's a bit upset at the moment as the kids at school have started to take the micky out of her & when she speaks to them they just shout 'WA' instead of saying 'yes miss'. But they are just copying her, if I speak to her & she doesn't hear or understand, she shouts it to me & so probably does to the kids too.
I must do some shopping today, as the lodger doesn't eat potatoes, pasta, any meat apart from chicken breast or any cheap english veg, I don't provide meals for her very often, instead she helps herself from the cupboards. She gets through a box of cereal in a day or two, a whole block of cheese & 2 tins of tuna in 2 days & 10 chicken brast over each weekend, I'm finding it expensive to feed her, she also only eats one sort of bread & will only drink soya milk. So I'm going to stock up on the cheapest versions I can.
I'm going to give the living room a good clean today & then will put the tree up.
    Have a good one.
    Hugs Hester
