NS&I have stopped accepting/making payments

I've got several payments-in stuck in pending status from over a week ago and also from the start of the week so i phoned support to be told that they are no longer paying into or out of NS&I income bond accounts via online and phone based banking due to some technical issue. I'm surprised you have anything to do with NS&I at all. Why not use a savings bank with a super fast computer and nobody allowed to drink tea on the premises ???
