I've got several payments-in stuck in pending status from over a week ago and also from the start of the week so i phoned support to be told that they are no longer paying into or out of NS&I income bond accounts via online and phone based banking due to some technical issue. They have no idea when it will be fixed but it has clearly been going on for a while based on my payments' status so might take a while. Just in case anyone is thinking of opening an income bond account with them.

Trying to log-in to a NS&I account now results in users being put in a queue and waiting for access. Weird.0

Glad I got my payments through on Monday then. They have now left my bank account and are pending in NS&I

Haven't we already had a long thread instigated and prolonged by impatient panickers who haven't read NS&I's online statement that they are working with reduced staff due to Covid, inundated with the newbies who suddenly realise we have a perfectly good state owned savings bank and to be patient?
Now we seem to have a duplicate thread which will no doubt continue to attract those who have never used NS%I before and think they are some sort of cowboys
I have used NS&I with extremely large amounts for many years and have never found anything untoward-----on the contrary, NS&I cover all my funds a very long way above the FSCS £85,000, they have to warn me 2 months in advance of any drop in rate ,they have many "special offer" Bonds from time to time which are well worth it ( eg I still have fixed Bonds earning 2.5 %), etc etc.
OK, they are dealing with furloughs, thousands of new savers who are desperate to take advantage of NS&I's new and unexpected top position in the list of easy access savings accounts-----and don't forget, before Covid, NS&I had over 30 million savers ( including many with savings in excess of £1m) who they still have to deal with. Why not just give them a break and remember we are living in chaotic times-----or just take your money to another savings institution so that we don't have to go through another thread which should be titled " oh, goodness me,help, help, I'm so afraid all my money has been lost by NS&I because they are a bit slow to authorise transfers during the pandemic".8 -
Agree totally with the above post well done
Reminds me of the old saying - what is the definition of a millisecond ...
it is the time between someone making a payment to NS&I and tjen complaining on the forum that the payment hasn't arrived1 -
How dare you libel cowboys?2
