Or send a letter signed for delivery, that's what I'm going to have to do to sign off in a week or two, not sitting clutching a phone for hours.

All I can suggest is to try again tomorrow, and as early as possible. Monday is usually the worst day to phone any DWP benefit enquiry line as it is the busiest day for calls.

You can make a complaint here https://makeacomplaint.dwp.gov.uk/
Report a change details here but pretty much same as above https://www.gov.uk/jobseekers-allowance/report-a-change-of-circumstances
Your's, a numpty that can't answer the telephone as I am working from home without telephony.

That does not give a email address - would you please advise me of one?

These people are still not answering their phones even after leaving the phone on speaker phone for a 2 hours then it cut off and you have to start all over again having to hear their long winding recordered messages.

Perhaps they dont want to talk to you, I wonder why not .....
  • What is it you need to speak to them about so urgently? Perhaps we could help if you advise?

Unfortunately you are not the only person to exist to perhaps want to speak to them and with reduced staffing and working from home going on maybe you need to show more empathy.

I'm finding your comments rather rude, sorry. Please have some understanding that those that are working for DWP have been working extremely hard while millions of people try to claim a benefit to get them through the most difficult of times.
I think you do need to sit down, take a deep breath and start again. Please have some consideration for others because they are doing their best!

    Fixed that for you.

Did you not read tomtom's post?! Let me remind you ...

I understand that it's frustrating, but seriously, the staff are generally doing their best and if you do ever get through to anyone who is not working from home then I jolly well hope you won't be giving them that kind of attitude!
They must have some kind of telephony other wise they could not work from home - if they are.
