  • I got chocolate cake and been munching through my after eights, one chocolate I won't share 🤣
Still got some work to do with the girls but just having a break. Sorted accounts yesterday and waiting for a couple of receipts from DH to finish them for the month.
I've sent off an email today for a resource we used for DS, he hasn't used it in about 3 years but yearly payment has come out today. I have also paid for another while its on offer.
I've ordered a few bits ready for DD2 birthday. Can't believe how much more cards and things are when ordering online.

Right going to find my post to copy and paste and update while DH is still asleep.

I'm only paying minimum at the moment until we know how much the roof is going to cost. There's almost £3k in the roof account and the lower Mcard 0% runs out in May, as this is in my name I don't think I'll get a balance transfer as no longer working so may just pay it off from the roof account if needed and use the money that would be going to the Cfinance to top it back up quickly.

  • Glad you got chocolate and A8's. I don't know anyone that doesn't like them and I mean they are so thin not really a lot to share is there lol.
Sounds sensible until you know the cost of roof, also be a lift to see the cfinance go soon. You are so close to having another one bite the dust :)

  • I can't wait to see the finance gone. 4 years later and I still hate the sofa (it was DH choice as he HAD to have a high back and recliners). Can't believe my last diary was 4 years ago, started it as we were awaiting delivery of the sofa.
Seem to have spent a fortune today £70 on a years resource for ds2, a first of the month treat takeaway and £55 for DD2 cards and the 13th birthday bear/necklace/keyring type things all the kids have had. No idea what else she's having.
I did request the refund that I posted earlier and also cancelled Mr t delivery saver as I don't use my account now. Cancelled it a couple of months ago but it still renewed so they are refunding the payment. Things I would probably have ignored before (well I have,  ds resource has cost me 70 a year last 2 years and he hasn't used it. I thought having a new bank card would have cancelled the payment.

Going to feed the rabbit and try for an earlier night.

  • No spend day today. Not heard about the resource refund yet.
DH has been sorting through (and moving things around) in the kitchen cupboards. DS1 has just been to ask me where the glasses have gone 😂 Hes really being ruthless with them while I'm home schooling, so much has left the house today (all way past date). I've given conservatory (dining room/class room) a quick tidy and hoover so one room ready for the boiler service on Friday as it wasn't too bad.

Tomorrow should be a NSD too.

  • Another NSD. Absolutely exhausted. Didn't sleep at all last night, so much going round in my head. Other than helping the children I haven't managed much else a day. I think I'm going to try and change the boiler service, I'm not getting anywhere fast and still too embarrassed to let anyone in. DH has been busy in the kitchen cupboards but the kitchen/utility still looks no different and I think they'll want access to all the radiators too.

  • All sounds busy your end  :) brilliant that DH is on it. Don't envy you with the home schooling  can totally imagine how stressful that is.

  • Had some sleep and feeling a little better today.
I've given up waiting for the last receipt from last month from DH so have just put the amount in 'other' as I have no idea what it went on and I've had an email back from the resource for DS and they'll only cancel the payment before its due. Hes cancelled it for next year. It had the wrong email address on the account (one of the reasons we have never been able to access it) I had accidentally put a mix of mine and DH's so have never had any emails as reminder about renewal. He said he'll send it to his manager to see if they will refund.
So I've updated the app I use and started this months (it's not continuous like ynab, I have to 'clone' the previous month, but it is free).

DH got paid today and I've paid £103 to mcard and DH has fetched a sack of potatoes. Hes going to fetch the heavy bits like dog food in the morning so I don't need to add it to Sundays delivery.

I've changed the boiler service to this Friday so need to find some energy from somewhere.
Right better go feed some kids. Dh made a shepherd's pie while I was with the children earlier so just need to pop it in the oven.

  • Oh shepards pie same as me  :) well mine ended up more hotpot as no mashing went on, how funny.
I have batch cooked and prepped a load of fruit and veg all day and have come to the conclusion it was too much like hard work vs the saving  :D anyway it's done now.

Glad you have had some rest, can't believe it's February already.

  • Evening Sam. Last month seems to have flown. I'm not sure we actually had shepherd's pie (cottage pie possibly?), we always do it with beef as DS1 has never eaten lamb.
I made some fruit into smoothies earlier for the girls. They made loads of fruit salad last week as it was on their 'cooking' list and were going through loads. So I stocked up this week and they didn't bother. I am really struggling to get DD2 to eat anything though, she had refused everything all day, so she loved putting the strawberries, raspberries and ice cream in and had a whole glass.
I do cheat with veg and most is bought frozen as it just sits in the drawer as I can't be bothered to do it.

DH has gone to work, the children are all in rooms so im sat in bed with my tea looking at all the nice things I would like for the house.
