Hey Charlie’stribe, have just caught up. What a stressful time for you with all the job shenanigans! But it sounds like you’re well sorted now. I hope you manage to sort everything out. Tier 2 makes everything so difficult. Big (socially distanced) hugs x
  • Thank you Sam and missy.
Still got no energy but feeling a bit better.
£89 has come out for Cfinance, there's just 6 payments left and I did a click and collect on Thursday as couldn't get a delivery.
I have had to buy DD2 a Halloween costume today. I was hoping to get out of it this year but its dress up week at dance.

Usually the children have no idea what they want for Christmas. I asked them the other day and boy I can tell they're teenagers. DD1 asked me to pay for a new tattoo, DS1 asked for a ps5, DD2 asked for an iPhone and DD3 wants a gaming laptop. There was only DS2 that said he doesn't know. Don't worry, they all know they are nowhere near in the budget but I do feel bad when thats what their friends are all having.

Just watching a bit of TV while its quiet and then try to get some sleep.

  • Ah bless you, nothing to feel bad for think we can all remember asking for those sorts of things. I guess the friends parents may be getting into debt and maybe with some kids it's more of a wish list of what they tell their friends they are expecting. You have each other that's the most important thing. Get Nov 5th out the way and then it will be time to focus on Xmas. Think I will settle for some slippers and a nice dinner this year lol

Weather's been awful so no washing going on here.

  • Thank you Sam. I've avoided posting as feel a bit rubbish that they can't have what they really wanted.
I wish I had till after 5th November for Xmas 🤣 DS2 has learning difficulties and he is dead set that Christmas can start from the 1st November. He's been counting down the hours until he can play Christmas music and he's already planning to watch scrouge with DH when he gets home in the morning. He is always up early so DH watches a film with him at the weekend to give me an extra hour, costs me a fortune in 'sausage cereal ' though. I always ask if he's had breakfast and he giggles he has. I ask if he had toast or cereal and he's started telling me he had sausage cereal as his dad always makes him a sausage sandwich and says don't tell mum 🤣😂 - way off topic there, sorry.

I'd be happy with new slippers too, mine have been washed that many times the sole is dropping off and I wear them pretty much all day.

Been a quiet week. 2 payments to debt have come out this week. I have shopping coming tonight as couldn't get a delivery tomorrow. For the first time I've actually done a meal plan instead of just putting in a few different meats and then deciding what meals to do with them.

Going to have a cup of tea and something to eat and then will do the end of October update.

Don't worry that you can't buy loads for your kids.  They won't remember what presents they had in years to come, what they will remember is the time that is spent with you.  I'm sure your DS2 will remember his sausage cereal with his dad in years to come!  I love the description!!!

  • Thank you joedenise. I've been reading another diary over the last few days and made me think how much easier it was when they were 5 or 6 and happy with a scooter/bike/football. I didn't plan out them all being  teenagers together. Luckily they know and understand its not possible.

I'm just waiting for the shopping to be delivered and then I'll post end of month update. Just sat in the glow of the pumpkins now.

  • End of October totals are
    Bcard £6188.97
    Mcard £1955
    Cfinance £535.86
    M2card £10591.43

    Total debt 30/09/2020 £19743.06
    Total debt 31/10/2020 19271.26

I may need to update that slightly once I've checked accounts. It doesn't quiet add up from app totals + paid to last month.

Just done end of month shuffle sent £50 to emergency fund and £346 moved to new roof account, probably only another 5000 to go 🤣 (was supposedto be havinga quote next week). Wont normally be that amount but had a 4 weekly payment go in twice this month.

  • Evening. Just a quick post. All money gone into right accounts/savings this morning. Should have been a NSD but DH bought beer on his way home so 9.90 spent.
Off to bed soon as no-one wanted to get up this morning and was a fight to get them ready for school (except DS1 who is just starting his second week of self isolation).
Tomorrow DH has to fetch some squash and dog food that I had forgot on the order (was up to my allowed limit and forgot to go back and change it).
