You may need to do a bit of googling to clarify things. I find a lot of things are being advised but how to get hold of various things is difficult.polly

It seems the advice applies worldwide.Fabric masks should consist of "at least three layers of different material" in order to be effective, the WHO says.
However, those aged over-60 and with underlying health risks should wear medical masks in areas where there is community transmission.

That would include those over 60s who have less access to modern technology, or excess funds to pay the prices being charged for these on the internet at present? Hmmm...Speaking as an over 60 who's fed up with his well-specified builders' mask steaming his glasses up every time he enters Sainsbury's, I can't wait for my less effective designer mask to come in the post. I was very tempted by the one that had '**** the Tories' on it, but settled for something less confusing. Surely, if we all did that, they'd only give birth to more!Meanwhile, whilst doing the rounds in the aisles, the recorded message keeps telling me that I can 'help stop the spread' by self checking my own stuff, rather than going through the checkouts, thus destroying the jobs of those who have steadfastly kept them running, many of them not much younger than me!

Being one myself, I have a reasonable grasp of what others around me are like, including my MiL who Whatapps every day at age 84. However, there are plenty in my village much younger than that who are not tech-savvy. or able to pay out £50 for a box of medical masks that wouldn't benefit them at all, given their current lifestyle.
