Disney Dining Plan Cancelled

Apologies if I'm a bit late to the thread but I thought I'd put my case forward:I booked direct with the Walt Disney Travel Company for a 2 week trip to fly out in August. Cost was just over £9K.I got the email from WDTC on June 12th offering me a full refund if I cancel with a guarantee that all monies paid by me will be refunded to me. The other options were to continue with the holiday as booked (with major changes due to C19) or change the booking for next year.I then get a final invoice from WDTC stating that I will be refunded the full amount less £1259.30 for "2020 arrival 35% discount". I have no idea what this is!I've tried calling WDTC but the queue is 167 minutes. So I sent an email and got a reply stating that it will be looked at within 14 days.Bonkers.0

It good to know Disney is stating people can have a full refund, just a pity they messed up giving you one.

Thanks everyone for your responses.
Its at least a little comforting to know we are not alone in this. I’ve spoken with TUI twice recently (after many many hours spent listening to their hold music).
I used the chat function to speak to a WDW cast member who confirmed removal of DDP from my booking, and have since received an email from them confirming. And like others dining reservations have also been removed.
TUI have claimed to have no knowledge on the two occasions I’ve spoken with them about this. The first time the agent offered an extension to the payment deadline of by two weeks and conceded removal of the dining plan would constitute a major change under their Ts and Cs and the under PTR wed be eligible to cancel.
More recently (this week) the agent said they still have nothing from Disney to confirm the situation And therefore they can’t allow me to cancel under PTR. They did however say if the payment deadline passes they would not consider this a default on my part and I could still claim a refund... I AM NOT TAKING THAT AT FACE VALUE and will be in touch with them again closer to payment deadline.
A generic email came from TUI today outlining their promise to customers - for me this goes further than is covered by PTR and says that any changes to Resort, Accommodation or Destination would mean they wouldn’t take us there (where on earth will they take us then!?), and they won’t run holidays to destinations imposing arrival quarantines.
Im hopeful and cautiously optimistic Things will turn good. It could be worse... I’ll fight for my deposit back, I’m just glad I’m not fighting for anything else in this mad world!
I’ll update if I make any progress. I hope everyone gets a good resolution too. Stay safe!0 -
We too have heard back from our travel agent who have also spoke too Tui, same response, Tui have not heard about the Disney dining being cancelled, unbelievable really. Our balance is due in 10 days time which we will not be paying, but if we end up losing our deposit we will never ever book with them again, not sure how they are getting away with this.0

We shall see what happens when due date comes and goes. We know we won’t be going come what may so no way I’m paying the balance to then fight to have it returned.

My son in law paid the deposit by debit card, guessing this is a big mistake and should have been credit card0

That is correct 6 years for a Section 75 on a credit card 120 for a Chargeback.
With a Chargeback it would be 120 for the date of the start of the holiday ( or anytime before then)
