Glad you're already enjoying your new bathroom, c_c_l
Today I am thankful for the rain for the garden (although am glad it looks like it will be dry at weekend), for managing to book an appointment in late July for DS3's new school uniform fitting, for getting rid of more paperwork, for having an idea about a problem we have in our kitchen, for yummy dinner which used up various bits 'n pieces, for a welcome money surpriseI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £206 -
Yesterday I cooked with items I had taken out of the freezer the night before. We had sausages with leftover mashed potato and some beans yesterday and mum's had chicken in black bean sauce today (I don't like it so I had toast). Spent some time water harvesting - putting buckets and other non holey containers in the middle of the yard to catch as much rain as possible. Also spent time trying to source some garden/ household items. Been successful with water butts and various grades of 'washing up' gloves, several items are still being hunted (explored various options for solving one problem, navigating my way through what was in stock and what they were prepared to deliver). Several things were removed from my basket at the checkout as they were 'not available at this time'.
Had a delivery this evening but it was based on mum's list and was mainly toiletries, otc meds, refilling the baking cupboard, lots of drinks (getting low on juice) and some ice cream cones (very few in stock last week).
Today I am grateful for rain for the garden, for collecting some to use later, for good food using what we had in, for a delivery that filled a few gaps, for down time spent well in mum's company.

Good morning...
Rain again - but it's nice. My flat is lovely and cool though still able to walk round in undies and a t-shirt - the joys of living alone haha! Lovely morning watching stuff on YTube - so much self-help stuff on there - I love it. Chores all done and off to see the parents later and will stay over. Got them some goodies to share.
Today I am grateful for:
1) The rain again
2) The guy who runs 'depression to expression' on YTube. Found his stuff helpful
3) For TED talks guest speakers. Love them
Still on NSD number 6... won't be one today either but will aim to clock some up next week when I am back in work.
Have a lovely Fri/Sat and I'll check in over the weekend again.⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

June Challenge Day 19
Quotes
Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain
Rainy days are perfect to cuddle and watch movies
Let the rain soothe your soul
When it rains, the world softens around the edges; streets and sidewalks become a liquid mirror onto which lights and colours bleed. When it rains, everything becomes beautiful.....for a while (John Mark Green)

June Challenge Day 19
Sauntering Day - no forced route march just a gentle stroll being aware of everything around you. Still on NSD No 14
Iceland order arrived today and the cost will be taken off the bank account tonight (probbably). Mostly fruit, veg and store cupboard type things and within the weekly food budget. A few different meals planned for the next 7 days.
I must confess I'm feeling tired. I'm not doing anything that should be causing this so I think it must be a lack of fresh air and exercise. Hope to start tackling that next week and also the weight (raises eyes in horror). Without being nasty I've noticed a lot of people around here have piled on the pounds so I think it is probably a consequence of lockdown. Boredom leading to eating crisps etc. Having said that I'll have to eat the big slab of birthday cake that's in the fridge first.
Congratulations on the new bathroom, CCL. Sounds so, so relaxing. Hope you had lots of bubbles and a glass of sparkly to go with the book.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
