Makes my £27.50 freebie winnings look pretty paltry in comparison! Still, a win is a win, and no money was spent in the process so, hey, that's all good!!

(but please, Sharon Osborne, look kindly upon us DFW's next week........£88000 would do us very nicely!!!)

The sun is shining today so I really ought to get my act together and get some washing out on the line - today I am running the children around to skiing and karate - as I am no longer working in the bar in the afternoon, the children get to do even more training!! And there was me trying to give myself a little more time!!

We need some essentials from the supermarket, and if I pass a bank that is open on Saturdays I need to pay in the client money I earned this week before it gets spent on "nothing". I also need to make a start on some college work today before I go to a group tutorial thing tomorrow.

So, enjoy the sunshine, and have a good day xxx

I hope you are all enjoying the fabulous sunshine!

Here we have been quite productive - the children are wanting an ipod shuffle (DS) and a laptop (DD) and of course I have said they have to save up themselves if they want these because all my money goes on their skiing etc.

Now, the children don't get other money from anyone, and although have names down for paper-rounds, nothing has been forthcoming, so I can't quite see how they are going to save up.....

.....so today we have agreed - I will pay DS for doing the garden - cutting grass, strimming etc, and I will pay DD for doing "real" housework - ie a proper clean of the kitchen, bathroom etc. They both do ordinary "chores" like helping with dinner, doing the dishwasher and washing machine (under protest) so this extra has to be on top of what they would normally be expected to do, and in return I will pay them £5 a week, which I hope does not sound unreasonable.

This way, they can save up for their "luxury items" and I get to have a tidier house and garden - every one a winner!!

I have to say that they have been quite happy to do this today, and so the place is already looking a lot better - when we all work together it is amazing how much we get done - that has to be worth £10 a week of anyone's money!!

Of course I have been doing my bit too, so hopefully before too long, the house will actually look presentable!

The sun is shining, so the windows are open and the house is all sunny and happy!

If only every day were like this
