  • lol nice one DS!!! thats nice of P to give DS her old one!

fending for myself is hardwork bob! ive got a crazy bordercollie to keep entertained who has decappitated his squeeky santa tonight and pulled out santa's squeeker!! u think kids are bad!!! i've had to stop him stealing my microwave cow!

I used to have a mad border collie called minstrel. He was an absolute thief and could open any door, even the fridge, never had to worry about him going hungry. His favorite toy was my ds's dummy, soon got him off it i can tell you.

I am not sure about his window-de-pooping skills..........could always try him out though!

Today I have a college group tutorial this afternoon so I need to get prepared for that - I suspect everyone is far further on than I am and I really need to make the most of these last few days before I start my new job to catch up and even get ahead of myself a little.

Moneywise I am being very DFW, and getting a lift there - I just have to walk to a meeting point about a mile away, so it will actually get me off my backside too!

Morning all - have a splitting headache  . DH & I worked at a wedding last night - didn;t get in until 1.40 this morning and DH had to be up at 6.30 as we have a group of Explorer Scouts doing their Bronze Expeidtion and he had to be at the campsite by 8 to check up on them  .

Hope you get on with your college work OK Hypno - I've got accounts to do today - payday last Friday so need to get transferring etc :rotfl: :rotfl:

Had phone call from DS - he got the job at the pool in Swansea :j :j .

Spent yesterday doing not much but was able to have long chat over lazy lunch in garden with DD about life after A levels :T :T . She is thinking of doing a years Art Foundation now and then going to Uni - does mean we wont have them both their at once !!!!!

Anyway must go drink lots of water - have not got hangover as not allowed to drink whilst working (alcohol that is) but it was really hectic - can't believe the amount that is spent on and at these wedding s though

    Have a good day

I hope you are all enjoying the fabulous sunshine!

Here we have been quite productive - the children are wanting an ipod shuffle (DS) and a laptop (DD) and of course I have said they have to save up themselves if they want these because all my money goes on their skiing etc.

Now, the children don't get other money from anyone, and although have names down for paper-rounds, nothing has been forthcoming, so I can't quite see how they are going to save up.....

.....so today we have agreed - I will pay DS for doing the garden - cutting grass, strimming etc, and I will pay DD for doing "real" housework - ie a proper clean of the kitchen, bathroom etc. They both do ordinary "chores" like helping with dinner, doing the dishwasher and washing machine (under protest) so this extra has to be on top of what they would normally be expected to do, and in return I will pay them £5 a week, which I hope does not sound unreasonable.

This way, they can save up for their "luxury items" and I get to have a tidier house and garden - every one a winner!!

I have to say that they have been quite happy to do this today, and so the place is already looking a lot better - when we all work together it is amazing how much we get done - that has to be worth £10 a week of anyone's money!!

Of course I have been doing my bit too, so hopefully before too long, the house will actually look presentable!

The sun is shining, so the windows are open and the house is all sunny and happy!

If only every day were like this

your own personal cleaners brilliant send them up i'll pay them a fiver as well

morning! Just catching up! Before I forget are we now allowed to know the new job now that its definate - sure you said but I missed it! Great idea re the kids chores for pocket money - that way they learn the value of money, you get jobs done & it IS preparing them for adult life. I'll never forget going to uni as a mature student & one girl literally didnt know how to use a tin opener because her mum did everything! Mad!! Aww how lovely of P to give DS the shuffle! Hope you have a good day at the course today!! Bound to be tight this month with the gap in wages but hopefully a nice catch up when new wages come in...must try bingo again but its sooooo boring & I've never won but then you have got to be in it to win it havent you eh!! Hugs for ya!

Surfbabe, I hope your headache subsides soon. Well done to DS for getting the job and good luck with sorting DD's future out!!

ISOM, I am going back into Stockbroking - I am very very excited about it and the opportunities it may bring me if I do as well as I know I can. It will def be big challenge for me, because although I have lots of experience, this is a very big opportunity for me to really make something of all of that. Roll on next Tuesday!!

El....DS is on his way.............will be with you by about next Friday. DD is still asleep, so I will send her on her way when she wakes up!
