Well, I quite liked being behind bars, TBH - I would go back to that job in an instant!

But, yes, the "getting back into suits" thing is what has motivated me to lose weight - I have lots of lovely clothes I just can't fit into!! I still have a long way to go to get into some of them, but others are almost wearable again!

Just won £9.15 on free bongo......got a £2 "we've missed you" bonus from one of the sites and played through to win. Not masses, but every little helps!

Word of warning - I am gearing up for a new diary......this one is over 4000 posts now, and with the new job I sort of see it as moving into the next phase of my life, so perhaps appropriate to start again.......watch this space over the next few days!!

    Hi Hypno:j

Although I have never posted on your thread before, I have read it with interest. I hope you don't think I am nosy, but I was wondering how you managed to pay off so much debt in so short a time? I am "stuck" atm, and didnt have a very DFW weekend, but am trying not to beat myself up over it. Would love some tips or inspiration.

Hi Hell! Well, where do I start..........

I am pretty focused on clearing the debt - it is such a huge burden on our lives and the sooner it is gone, the sooner I can get to sleep at night!!!

So, first of all, my head is in the right place!

Some of the things we have done are:
    • both having more than one job......eg I worked full time, but also did part time bar work, and still saw my therapy clients. OH always has at least 2 jobs on the go. It is hard work, but it brings the money in.
    • free b!ngo - tedious but for us it was profitable
    • we have a lodger - we have a student from abroad, and have done for the last 4 years. Not ideal, because we have to give up a room, but it gives us £3500 a year additional income.
    • we don't go out.....don't drink, don't smoke, don't have skytv........
    • takeaways are a luxury now!
    • matched betting, ebay, etc etc etc
    • take advantage of every freebie/offer/quidco click/piggy click that we can!
    • savvy shopping keeps the grocery budget down
I have to say, it is mainly down to the ideas on these boards, plus being focused. We have managed to do this in addition to getting the children skiing for the winter, so it really is quite a phenomenal amount of money!

If your head is in the right place, you can achieve anything you want to achieve - there are loads of us aiming to clear £20k in a year and have our own challenges to do that.....why not head over to that thread and join in!

Another fab one full of ideas and inspiration is the "make £10 a day" thread.....absolutely loads of ideas there, and if you can make £10 a day, that is about £3500 a year........not bad for a little focus and effort!!

    Hope that helps!
