detox is going ok.......suffering a tiny bit from caffeine and sugar withdrawals but not too bad really.

Good luck with the detox and not to much running around while detoxing as you'll have no energy.

Hi Hypno, just noticed you're back! :hello:

Had a look at the Atkins diet a while back, I think there is a lot of common sense in there as long as you don't take it to the extreme. Never managed to get past a couple of days of any detox type thing :o Good luck!

hi redsquirrel! Yes I am back!!

In the early days, Atkins was all about eating lots of fat, and no fruit at all, with only a few veggies.......they have changed that over the years so after the initial 2 weeks, you can eat most fruit and veg and essentially have a very healthy plateful, just without the pasta/rice/potatoes/bread.

It is more a case of "back to basics" with me - good quality basic ingredients to make yummy meals :D Can't ask for more really (well, with the exception of coffee and chocolate!)

Sounds like a sensible approach to me :) I've cut back a lot on bread and pasta recently - kind of kicked off when my friend stayed with me who has to eat gluten free, and I realised I felt a lot healthier without it. Don't think I'm allergic to it but have a lot less bloated tummy! :o

Need to catch up on your last few pages, take it you had a good trip? ;)
