Good thinking Hypno. Now you're a member of Her Majesty's Prison Service how can they turn you down? Think how much faster you'll pay them off when you are shot of those interest rates. It makes me dizzy to think of!

I'm back too late to say hi to everyone.... well, I can say hi, but its over 2 hours since the last post! What a shame.... the debt totals do sound horrible, I know, but compared to how they were for everyone, esp Seaxwyn and Hypno, much better - and Z chipping in hugging everyone in sight, of course. Looong day, but a good one.

Hi KC, hope you had a good day yesterday.

Taxi - good morning!! I hope you have a good day - I am at the ski club this morning with the children, then working in the bar until 7....all money in the pot so can't complain.

I will start making tentative enquiries into credit card transfers today but I don't want to get my hopes up too much because I had so many knock backs last year.

I will let you know, of course, of any successes!

Have a good day everyone xx

OK, I have applied through quidco for a goldfish card (thanks for the prompt, Seaxwyn!) and will let you know the outcome. I suspect it will be a big fat NO, and if it is, then I am not applying for anything else this year. They only say "if you have been approved we will send you your card in the post very shortly" - nothing like telling you the news, good or bad, in the meantime is there!!

  • aww hugs for you hypno - I know what you mean as I applied to barclaycard & got declined...debating whether to apply for another low rate lob when egg 0% runs out...goldfish is a 3 yr LOB BT so watch out for that as the rates increase after that. Hope you get it & agree with all thats its a nightmare. Like you in same situation with loans..no point paying them off early but they feel like a millstone....you're doing so well though & cant belve how much youve paid off since the start of the year! Amazing!

If I do get the goldfish card, there will be no danger of it having a balance after 3 years - I fully intend all my debt gone completely by then!!

I have done something this morning that may be a bit foolish, but ho hum, I have done it anyway........

I have paid off my family debt :j

whilst this will not leave me short (says she hoping the numbers on the calculator are right) it will make things tight for February, but tight is still do-able when you are a seasoned DFW!!

So, next target MBNA.............and only 581 lots of £100 until I am debt free :T

I figured it might spur me on to have a bit of an ebay session - sort out some other ways of making money etc etc........watch this space!

Thanks Taxi - my heart is racing a bit having paid it off...not sure whether that is in satisfaction of having done it.........intrepidation about the rest of the month.......or downright fear

Oh well, as I say, it is done now...........:D
