Ooh Mooloo, 2 buses in this weather is not fun - I hope you get where you need to go without too much stress!

I have packed some soup in my bag along with a flask and will make that up before I leave work, thereby (hopefully) being able to resist the college canteen other than for a cup of coffee.

Right, got to go now - another late start today, for more "induction" stuff, but at least it gives me chance to have another coffee before I leave!! Tomorrow we are back to normal early starts....boo hiss!!

Oh, update on pay....should get paid at the end of the month but it will likely be by cheque not by BACS, so I need to speak to my bank to warn them as it won't be cleared before the DDs on the 1st go out. At least it is coming in, so that is the main thing.

    Have a good one!

    Hi Hypno!

I think I've missed you this morning - I've had 3 long, very active days on the trot, and my body started rebelling yesterday, and now I've woken up with a minor migraine, so I stayed in bed for an extra hour. I always think its horrible to have to go out and travel to work/school in this kind of weather, but there's people on the news expecting to be flooded, watching a river thats broken its banks creeping up against their flood defences, with days and days of wet weather forecast. Really does stop me feeling sorry for myself! Late start today, and late finish, at 8.30, so  see you soon!

Hope your long day isn't too tiring Hypno and that your flask ans soup do the trick.

Well done for finding out about pay systems as "forewarned is forearmed" as they say. (Any more cliches anyone?) Is there any chance that they'd give you the cheque a few days early so that you could get it into the bank and cleared before the date your dds start to kick in? I don't see why not as it wouldn't debit their account until the third day or whenever so would probably debit at the same time the BACS payments do.

Hi and thanks to everyone who posted helpful comments on my housing situation - I wasn't around yesterday to respond. Just in short - no garage here, oldest kids are 13 so I think the space issues will come to a head before they leave. Reorganising the rooms is probably the best bet, and I have thought about OH and me swapping rooms with the youngest two, as our room would allow two raised beds so they could have their own space underneath. Anyway.... thanks to everyone who helped and sorry hypno for hijacking your diary.

Good news that OH should be paid this month, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all goes smoothly for you. And for a good outcome to the bank charges case of course.

haven't posted for a little while - work very busy, had to work 12 hours on Saturday and for once I've been in a sit and watch the tele mood at home rather than a rushing around trying to do loads of stuff but anyway just wanted to come and say glad the new jobs going well - I think tea and coffee arrangements can be the most stressful thing about working places sometimes!

I gave in and took a taxi. I was drenched just walking the dog so I am glad I took the taxi. Even though it was pennies of of £10 (last week it was £8.50). Physio said try not to lift the babies!! Yes right!!. Also that no my work is still not part of the deal. I need to heal. Ah well. Ipopped in to the shop to say hi, the volunteers miss me, (the place is a mess), the assistant manager doesnt watch out for the health and safety side of things!!
I was definitely not MSE as I got a taxi back from town, that was £8.50. So with the bus from hospital to town, then wrapping paper and card for DBF birthday stuff today. I kissed goodbye to £33!! oops. Definitely no brownie points for me today.
Grocery challenge has got to be storecupboard now!!
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Hypno - a professional question - what do you think of Paul McKenna? I was wondering whether to invest a book token in 'Change your life in 7 days' based on a friend's recommendation (and the friend really has changed his life to an astonishing degree).

    I would welcome your opinion!

Hope you had a good day at work and survived driving through floods!

Hi Seaxwyn, thanks for the book - it arrived today!

As for Paul McKenna, I personally like him, others find him abhorrent! I think he gets straight to the point, and deals with the issues. I would say go for it. If you are unsure, get it from the library!

College was ok, but we had Ofsted in our lesson - never a good thing!!! So things were quite formal, stilted and very much "for Ofsted".

Hee hee - I did look at it - read the first three pages and don;t understand a thing !!!!

Will try again tomorrow when everyone is out and I've no distractions:rotfl: :rotfl:

Pain about Ofsted - I had two Ofsteds in a week in the Autumn - one at the school I'm a Governor at and one at the school i work at. Both Good though - so relief all round.
