Hi KC! Did you get to do something in the garden?

I did go to the gym, and I think my legs will definitely know about it tomorrow! Still, it all helps in the big scheme of things. I managed to get through the day without visiting the canteen, so another success there, dietwise and moneywise!

    :D

Hiya! No, I never got out into the garden, most of the day it was tipping down here... the most I did was go to the post office - ha, managed to sell an old counselling book on amazon, which was great. And then I booked an extra session in, so the wallpaper stripping (alternate to the gardening) never got done either.... so I'm very envious of you managing to get to the gym. Haven't done as much dfw today, haven't had the time - but the hourly rate of the sessions is so good, I don't mind! Have a good evening

Its strange not seeing your posts! I don't like it! :o:( Mind you, I have my normal London day today, so I won't be on here either... but that doesn't have quite the same impact, just one day.... anyway, have a good one, it'll be interesting to know what its like for you to have done a whole week there now.

It has certainly been very quiet on here this week! Not that I'm saying you talk a lot or anything. I think there have been a few people very busy and MIA.

    Morning Hypno & all!

Happy New Year to all of you!_party_ _party_ _party_

So much to catch up on! (Kettle's on to make that pot of coffee...)

oooooooooooooo Hypno -- I'm guesing from the last three posts that you are now at work full time! security clearance must have come through -- can't wait to hear about it!

Back from the MSE style all-inclusive holiday to of all places... Turkey -- last minute and super savings incurred -- otherwise we'd have never have been able to afford it! -- the Roman ruins were awe-inspiring, and all made painstakingly by hand & through hard work -- OH has sent praises to all of you for the money saving inspirations that helped us! Pinching every last penny really does work!

So with the New Year habits in mind -- off to do a household cleaning blitz & write up an annual budget to keep this household on the right track!:j

Mooloo could you call the Social Services bluff on Friday and say you are not prepared to house FOUR extra people in a 2 bed flat and that you are not prepared to play 'bodyguard' if they are not prepared to support you with the housing situation or financially.
Where would they put the girls then and how much would it cost?

The Social have given me an allowance to allow for the fact that I am no longer at work, although its only about half of my original wages. So I cant complain there. However I am going to bring up the fact that in thier original approach to me they did say that they "had powers" to get us rehoused. This is what they are renegaying on. (is that how you spell it). The playing Bodyguard bit is the hardest part as it impinges on all aspects of my life, and did intrude on my love life so much so that it nearly lost it before christmas. Although I am happy to say thats going ok now.

Today is a mini meeting, before the major one where the other grandparents have been invited.
I hear that they are going to agree to having Twin 2 and BBJ, tomorrow from 10am till about 6pm. That will give me a saturday off!!

Hope your all having a good 2008 so far.
I am going to be optimistic as much as I can, and not dare to think of how long we may be stuck in such a cramped situation.
Both girls have agreed to give me £60 housekeeping, out of their benefits, so we will be able to pay the bills, and not starve. I will probably get the baby milk, and wipes etc. Have got some of the nappies, so there is a stock pile of stuff now, but told them that it will depend on the heating bills what I can pay for out of the housekeeping pot.!!
Somewhere I have downloaded someones spreadsheets, now to see if I can make them work for me and focus me.
Hows the job going Hypno? Last day of your first week? Hope alls well. Hope kids are fine, and OH has paid for his sins?

Just caught up! Feeling a bit bashed as a social worker! All I would say is that is that yes, there are some rubbish social workers but the vast majority are passionate, committed indivduals who work day & night(literally!) in some very difficult circumstances to try & protect vulnerable children that so many others in society conveniently ignore..added to that the fact that there is a 40% shortage of childcare social workers, underfundng & a lack of resources makes working in that environment frustrating! Not forgotting that we are the worst paid professionals out there! Why do it then you ask...mainly because we care deeply about the people we come into contact with, regardless of their circumstances! Anyway, off my soap box...just needed to put the other side accoross!
Anyway..hypn great on the RC joining! I'm just past day 3! How are you getting on with the online system? Its certainly not as easy as WW online & I've emailed RC my feedback! We shall see! Great that work going OK...stay away from the canteen!! Hugs for you!

Please note that I have not been putting social services down. Only grumbled about the situation. I have agreed and praised that they are only trying to do thier best for my grandchild. I am only frustrated that things have been basic and vague, and that I have been given a lot of responsibility and not a lot of support, although the more I am shouting the better it is getting.
I really do not mean for you to feel that I am giving you a bad press, and that was not my intentions at all.
