Hi Scaredandindebt!! Fab to see you post, and thank you for the encouragement. Don't be scared about posting, we are nice people......honest ;)

El, I think that the hamper idea for next year has to be a goer, I was too late to think about this for this year, but will def do so next year. All ideas gratefully received - perhaps you can post them on the "free Christmas 2008" thread?

I have this week signed up for pureprofile - chocoholic referred me and I got my first survey through today - £1 now in the pot towards my free christmas 2008 target - I am on my way :j

Have a fab time tonight Hypno
Nothing like a trip back to your youth-I throughly enjoy my Osmond trips for those reasons as well as the fact they in their various combinations put on really good shows. Amazing some of the odd memories it triggers sometimes tho !!
PC is groaning like a good un-think the drive is on its way out. Just bought son a fabby PC from Dell (10% off 5% Quidco and contribution from the ex so although not MSE not too bad) but keep longingly looking at the laptops for me-especially the midnight blue and pink ones. Will hold out for their post Christmas sale tho. Can't Flylady the dining room now til son goes on his pre-Christmas visit to Dad's as Dell boxes are hidden behind the under the dining table clutter-he gets back Christmas day so I can set it all up once he's gone.

Right, I have hauled out the various stuff from the cupboard and need to get presents for the following:

    Nephew age 12
    Nephew age 2

So, not too bad really. I have another to buy for, but he has just moved into his own flat so he can have a pigsback John Lewis voucher to buy something for the flat, or to go to Waitrose to buy food.

Nephew age 2 can prob get something with boots points - I am sure I have enough for something.......will head to boots later to investigate.

Nephew age 12.........any ideas? Having a 12 year old boy myself it should be easy to think.....but of course mine only get ski stuff :o

    Hi elantan

Great idea about the hampers for next year:T . Please keep us updated with your ideas and plans for them won't you?

A friend in USA always seems to be making/receiving hampers, it's really caught on over there. I haven't many people to buy for nowadays:j but have considered whether making up hampers and selling them at craft/Christmas fairs might be a bit of a money-maker. Not too sure I'd be putting in many home-made items unless they're easy to make and guaranteed to look acceptable:rotfl: but it should be poss to buy odds and ends for them throughout the year when there are special offers and sales on. Will have a good search on the internet later for ideas. Don't want to be left with loads of bits bought in for hampers and being stuck with them. The idea is to make money not spend it:rolleyes:

    Have a good day

  • Hi its me another lurker... Gosh we are really coming out of the woodwork on this new thread of yours ;)

How about a magazine subscription for your nephew? Football or some other interest? There may be some offers on the magazine thread (can't do links). That way he will get a present from you dropping through the door every week/month for the next 6/12 mths??
