Nephew aged 11 - how about a flying screaming monkey from firebox - its a hoot and you get pigsback points as well. I got my godson one - he's 13 and it caused a riot on Christmas Day.

just saved £200 on house insurance, am now off to doctors then to work.

Hi Guys, thanks for the present suggestions - I will do some thinking during the course of the day, and ask DS what he thinks when he gets home from school.

A friend popped round earlier, so have done nothing productive so far today. Am also going out shortly for coffee and cake so nothing productive expected either!

Ooh, El, talking about home made stuff - just remembered my blackberry vodka that I made and put in the cupboard - that will do as a present for a friend :T

Hi again hypno! Two visits with friends - excellent! I think you're even more in need of a battery re-charge than I was - hope you have a good day, and eek! blackberry vodka - I think I may finally understand the lure of spirits! Yum.

try the rhythm sticks or groove glove -- they both are under a tenner are well worth the fun factor -- not sure if your nephew's parents will speak to you after, but if they are anything like most extended family members this might be a bonus!:p

Hypno, if you go for the Firebox idea there is an offer knocking around somewhere for a £5 off voucher. Might widen up your choice on there

Hello! Just got back from coffee and cake - we went to a local garden centre where they do a mean cake, and my friend paid, as it is my belated birthday coffee/cake outing!!

Also, managed to get some craft bits and pieces and have made dead cheap but looks fab jewellery for a couple of people for Christmas, thereby freeing up valuable vouchers that I can shift around for others for Christmas presents. Woo hoo!!

rtandon27 - re the noisy christmas presents - a couple of years ago I bought the same nephew a set of real bagpipes........the standard has already been set :rotfl:
