  • Do you know how long you will be 'caught in their net'? Have they given you an end date at all. The social really have you over a barrell don't they. Protect your grand child or we will take him/her away from you.

I've worked in social services as an administrator to social workers regardless of funding the good ones are superb but the inadequate ones blame the system at times to make up for their own failings I observed. No doubt I've cost them money because apparently there now has to be an investigation-money that would be better spent elsewhere-but I didn't have much choice.I felt really uncomfortable about the whole thing.
I think the letter situation you have to prove intent to knowingly open it-if like my neighbour you do it without really looking it's impossible to prove it was deliberate.

I suppose if Duchy's neighbour hadnt opened the letter addressed to Mr and Mrs Smith, it would not have been known. At one time it was the Post Offices responsibility to deliver post to the addressee. It was also illegal to open post addressed to anyone else? Does that not stand now?
But the fact that confidencial material is out there so easily is a bitter pill to swallow.
Mind you if anyone i knew was at risk, I would rather the leak, or the avid intervention, than being ignored like that little girl in london, several years ago,, cant thnk of her name, winoma, or something like that> Came to Uk t live with an aunt, they abused her, she died. So if Social want to intervien, I need to work with them, or loose my daughter and grand child, or heaven forbid all of them? even though it is tough, 6 of us in a 2 bed flat. Least we are family and have each other

The little girl was Victoria Climbie - a really sad story. They've tried to improve things though: http://www.victoria-climbie-inquiry.org.uk/.

Do you get free coffee at work? That would be very DFW, although i suspect it would be that horrible stuff in brown plastic cups that tastes of soap.

Hey, don't worry about the hijacks!! It is no problem for me!

information from the children is scarce - they are too busy having a good time! They claim to be working hard, and I think the 3 mile run round the lake on the first day reminded them that this is not a holiday!

No free coffee at work - well there is but it is awful, so I take my own. I manage somehow to get my fix!

Hope todays going well for everyone.
I am definitely having a lazy day. No spends day went out of the window when the girls wanted bus fares. (does that come out of my grocery challenge or a different pot) different I presume.
I am going to relax in a luxury bubble bath, and let the world drift on without me for the afternoon.
