    Morning Surfbabe! Happy New Year!

Had a really bad nights sleep again - kept thinking of my bloomin college essay that needs to be done. I will at least make a start on it this evening in order that I can rest easier tonight I think. It is my own fault for leaving it to the last minute (well, I have a week left) again, so I cannot blame anyone but myself!

Today I have a couple of mystery shops to do in town - all good for the "extra £10 a day challenge" - and the children want to spend their Christmas vouchers, so they can do that while I am "working". Then the children are going to the cinema on Orange Wednesdays hopefully (they have not received a confirmation text so it may be full price sadly) with some friends and I have a client to see this afternoon. finally they will probably do karate this evening after which I will do something for dinner from the meal plan (spag bol) and get on with that college work!

I will allow myself a bit of time on MSE in between but think I need to write everything down otherwise I am sure to miss something that NEEDS to be done!

I hope everyone has a good day xx

    Mornin Hypno.
Know exactly what you mean with the essays:o :o When I am doing my OU stuff I always leave stuff till the last minute then put myself under loads of pressure to get stuff done:confused: . It's amazing what avoidance tactics come up when a deadline is looming:rolleyes:  . Why do we do that????:confused::confused:

Good luck with getting it done.

I've got an assignment to do that should technically have been in yesterday - I know I can;t put it off any longer so I suppose I should knuckle down and do it.................when I've been to the post office, done the ironing, etc etc !!!!!!

Avoidance tactics - I'm good at those

How do you start your own thread?

Surfbabe, when you see the list of threads, at the top is a button that says "new thread" - if you click on that, you will be able to start your own!

Finally sorted out the problem with orange wednesdays so the kids can go to the pictures BOGOF this afternoon.

  • A belated Happy New Year to everyone:beer:

Hypno, what are the cheap Sun holidays you've mentioned earlier in the thread? Do you have to collect tokens from the paper and if so do you need hundreds of them  . And has the offer already started? Sorry to ask so many questions but we don't buy a national newspaper and rely on the local daily paper( a great source of comp prizes too:j ) and TV for news. Just wondering what the outlay on the Sun will be to get a holiday. Would still be a cheap holiday even if it means buying the Sun for months though. And is there a big choice of venues for the holidays?

    Take care

Hi Imp, I think the Sun do holiday vouchers in about April - you only have to collect for a few days and there is usually a good choice both in the UK and on the continent, and it can be a really good way of getting a holiday.

I don't buy the Sun any other time (honest) but it is worth doing for the cheap hols. They generally advertise on the telly when it is about to start, and people will be talking about them on MSE if last year is anything to go by.

I've just had my Sun Holidays pack (if you've been on one before, they send you a priority booking pack the following year), so they must be due to start next week I think. I don't think my priority booking is transferrable otherwise I would send it to someone, as we wont be using it this year. We have done it for the last few years though, and they are fab. Usually, including entertainment passes and any other things you have to pay for, it's worked out at about £70 for a 4 day break for 3 of us.
